“Check Your Emotions at the Door as Mercury Enters Retrograde on June 26th 2013”

mercglyph
Mercury stands for the intellect and the way we utilize it in our lives. It also represents communication, mediation, tactics, knowledge, mental flexibility, analytical and logical thoughts, and the manner of judging and deciding. Mercury is also the negotiator between the conscious and the unconscious mind because the key issue here is focus as defined in “Key Words in Astrology by Banzhaf & Haebler”. Its powers of thought support the recognition and understanding of the images of the unconscious, such as dreams. The planet also represents expression in speech, curiosity, the thirst for knowledge, and a certain readiness, ambition, and ability to learn. Mercury in Cancer is combining our emotions and feelings with the way we see and bring things about. With the planet in retrograde at 27 Cancer 3, beginning June 26th 2013, the Universe is directing us to check our emotions at the door as we undertake any situation, so we can pay attention to what is happening at the moment.

The cycle of Mercury Retrograde is about three times a year, and before we know it, or wish it, it has quickly passed and just as quickly, has returned again vying for our attention. One only needs to question anyone who has experienced the trials, tribulations and chaos that retrograde can create and one will hear endless stories that will amaze. My problem is whether our emotions on the subject has been so bent out of shape that the legends and the myths that have come out of it, may be more fiction than facts. Is the embellishment a help or a hindrance in getting one through this period safe and sound? How much of the experiences are real facts and how much of it is our imagination? A Retrograde period in my opinion is when caution, carefulness and retrospection is a necessity to avoid glitches, personal misunderstanding, flawed, disrupted, and delayed communications with ourselves and others.

Although I know there will be delays and disruptions that we can not avoid during this period, I do believe much of the frustrations and stress we experience is sometimes caused by our own carelessness in our thinking, action and especially how our emotions are expressed and carried out. With the retrograde in a water and cardinal sign, it is reminding us to monitor our emotions, impulses and actions to avoid frustrations and disappointments. That haste mixed with emotions makes waste, is no idle saying. The necessity to make things happen is our priority at this time, and possibly without the forethought and preparation, which at other times, would be our usual procedure. Whether it is the action of others, or actions instigated by our own emotions, ambitions and desires, the keywords, are caution and alertness in everything we do during this period of time.

“The Sabian symbol for the 24th degree of Cancer is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Cancer 24 A woman and two men on a bit of sunlit land facing south This is a symbol of the soul’s necessary decisiveness in the basic allegiances of life, here emphasized in the terms of practical or everyday relations. There must be a mediation between the competing demands for immediate attention to various transient needs, and for some consistent or overall goal which will bring an individual’s efforts into a cohesive pattern. The inner capacities must be disciplined continually for the sake of a plethora of outer opportunities. The keyword is inception. When positive, the degree is an unusual gift for organizing and exploiting the self’s potentials, and when negative, a devastating sense of ineptitude and estrangement from reality.

This symbol speaks to me in that the woman and the two men symbolizes the emotional, nourishing, mental and physical nature of the human being working in unison towards knowledge, enlightenment and accomplishment. In balance and in harmony with one another, they are of one mind in working towards one goal without upsetting the equilibrium of the whole, suggesting unity of purpose and cohesiveness. The south symbolizes the source and the concept of integration and the ability to see and to grasp opportunities, when it knocks. Our advantage during this retrograde period is our ability to stay alert, aware and to anticipate any difficulties or trials that may come about as we participate in the moment. This Mercury Retrograde in Cancer is demanding us to check our emotions at the door if we wish to fly through this period without any complications that will disrupt and sidetrack us from our goals and wishes. As in all spiritual groups, rituals and exercises, if one is to succeed, one needs to set aside the emotions.

“Attainment is Passion Mixed With Knowledge Says the 18 Gemini New Moon on June 8th 2013”

Gemini_2
As the year subtly unfolds, one can observe through the weather patterns, the political situations, and the financial climate, something is amiss. The writing is on the wall or should I said in the stars, if only we could decipher without any illusions, what is about to befall us. With three eclipses right in a row behind us, the forceful energies of these aspects should be as clear as night and day. Our ability to see the true circumstances of our situation is hindering our perceptions, our understandings and our accomplishments. In the age of the computers we no longer see eclipses as messages and signs from the Universe to help predict what the months ahead will hold. In this climate, the 18 Gemini New Moon on June 8th 2013 at 8:55 am PDT is saying that any attainment is made up of passion mixed with knowledge. An old planetary aspect the kite seldom talked about involving Venus and Pluto is reminding us that reason and knowledge mixed with wisdom and passion is the only way to create those things that will rejuvenate our being, but it is important to persevere to the end. We need to stay the course even when we see the end, in sight.

The Sabian symbol for the 18th and 19th degree of Gemini is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Gemini 18 Two Chinese men talking Chinese This is a symbol of an everyday exclusiveness on the intellectual side of experience, the individual strengthened not as much by actual distinctiveness, as by a continual co-operation with fellow enthusiasts in various special area of interest. A species of uniqueness is idealized as a corrective for self-diffusion. There are here the potentials of high erudition and of an exceptional refinement of the personality along original or unusual lines. The keyword is difference. When positive, the degree is the effective mobilization of self and others for life’s more specialized objectives, and when negative, a thorough dissipation of selfhood through alien relationships.

Gemini 19 A large archaic volume This is a symbol of the ultimate indestructibility of experience, so that any path once traversed may be taken again with a greater ease and a broader self-discovery. There is here the assurance of illimitable resources in wisdom, and the suggestion that this heritage may be made manifest at any time in an immediate and practical guidance. The past always provides an illumination of the present, and man achieves best as he cultures a real sense of obligation to his own roots. The keyword is background. When positive, the degree is a special capacity for the recovery of prior advantages or the effective disentanglement of present involvements, and when negative, a slavish worship of tradition and authority.

This symbol speaks to learning and obtaining knowledge, but is it intimating that knowledge is power? Or is it asking us that we need to put this knowledge to good use? That knowledge alone stored up, is like old books on the shelf, never being read. Knowledge like any procession needs to be worked and used. This new moon is telling us we need to take what we learn and what we believe in, and mix it with our passion to create the world we want. That passion is the fire under our knowledge that will kick start new ideas into the realities we are searching for. That passion keeps us going when hope is thin, and will also see us through to the finish line. At the same time that we nourish our ability to learn, we need to nourish the right passions to keep us going when the going gets rough. This moon phase is reminding us that our thoughts are the foundation of who we are, but without the actions, it does nothing. It is telling us to walk our talk, if only for our own edification and approval. That any attainment we achieve will be a mixture of passion, wisdom, knowledge and reason.

“The Quest for Change Begins with the Self Murmurs the Sag Lunar Eclipse on May 24th 2013”

Sagittarius_2
As time seems to be flying by as if by magic, the predictions for 2013 as a year of the unusual, unexpected and sudden windfalls of change in the political, religious, climatic and economical areas are subtly unfolding. The year of the snake has made it presence known and the next move can only be guessed at. In this atmosphere, one of the most potent and powerful moons of the season, the 4 Sagittarius 6 Lunar Eclipse on May 24th at 9:26 pm PDT makes its appearance, murmuring that the quest for change begins with the self, first, and second with our thoughts. A perceptive notion created in harmony with a divine plan expressed through the aspects of the night sky. We are not able to have the vision for change, or make changes or see the changes as viable, if we don’t first make the change in ourselves. Uranus and Pluto make their third square, combined with the fact that this lunar eclipse is a super moon, indicating its closeness to the earth in a tight square to Neptune is storing up and focusing the energy for whatever we wish to bring into our reality.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 5th degrees of Sagittarius and for the Sun in 5th degrees of Gemini is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Sagittarius 5 An old owl up in a tree This is a symbol of the necessary element of steadiness in human affairs, and of the extent to which the demonstrated and widely accepted values of the life must have their full and functioning part in the immediate reality with which an individual may be seeking to come to terms. Here is the power of man to give an eternal stability or a universal compulsion to whatever seems to call to his own deeper and private potentialities. Emphasized especially is the real dignity of self respect. The keyword is normality. When positive, the degree is exceptional wisdom or effective self-restraint in each detail of personal accomplishment, and when negative, self-betraying intellectual and emotional smugness.

Gemini 5 A radical magazine This is a symbol of the necessary element of change in human affairs, and of the extent to which the remote or the nonpossessed and entirely potential will have its full and functioning part in any immediate reality with which an individual may be seeking to come to terms. Here is the power of man to give high exaltation and dramatic force to whatever succeeds in stirring him deeply with himself. Emphasized in principal and important part is the supremacy of inner over outer compulsions. The keyword is tangency. When positive, the degree is personality in its highly effective capacity for putting its stamp on everything it touches, and when negative, a perverse determination to quarrel with everybody.

This symbol is very appropriate with its message as it speaks to the fact that when we begin to make the necessary changes, stability and staying center to our beliefs will be some of the benefits. It symbolizes our ability to use wisdom, emotional detachment and self control in emphasizing our ability in demonstrating our self respect and our ability to keep silent when it is necessary. It represents our maturity and confidence one gains when adapting to life’s trials and tribulations that are laid in front of one’s path in life. It echoes the need to have the courage to make dramatic changes and to defend what we believe and who we really are. It will make the difference from just succeeding to a successful completion. As we approach the energies of this Lunar Eclipse we need to remind ourselves, if we want to make changes, we must first begin with the self and then with our thoughts.

“Revive the Magic and the Wonderment bellows the 19 Tau 31 Solar Eclipse on May 9 2013”

Taurus_2
As time continues to unfold, the year of the snake is fulfilling the promise of the unexpected, the unusual, and the abrupt happenings manifesting in extraordinary ways. It is essential we keep one step ahead of it, if we wish to accomplish what we desire in the future. Even if we can not anticipate the situation, we need to be open enough, to improvise wisely, if we need to, when the time comes. In this atmosphere and anticipation, the 18 Taurus 31 Solar Eclipse on May 9th 2013 at 5:29 pm PDT makes it s presence felt. It is emphasizing the need to revive the myths, legends, mysteries and the sacred knowledge that has survive through the millenniums. At the same time, to restore the wonderment and the excitement of it all. The Universe is reminding us that it is through the wisdom of the past that we will begin to see a better future. It has been our disregard of the sacred knowledge and allowing then to be hidden away that we have forgotten how they have been the helping hand to get us where we are now.

With a stellium of planets concentrated in one part of the chart, one is reminded of the power, energy and the force it will have on whatever it is focus on. Especially, as the planets are in Taurus in a fixed sign, the creative force will find it very difficult to change its position once its direction is made clear. Taurus is also the very proud guardian of the sacred wisdom and will protect it at all cost. It is imperative at this time that we are clear to ourselves of where our starting point is coming from and what we really believe in, as this is the foundation we are building upon. Once our direction is clear, the energy that will be release will be so powerful and forceful, it will astound us. There are no second thoughts or a change of mind. One must be sure what one is asking for, is what one really wants. The mysteries, sacred knowledge and the magic and the wonderment from the past mixed with our clear vision of our wishes will bring dreams into reality.

“The Sabian symbol for the 20th degree of Taurus is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Taurus 20 Wind clouds and haste this is a symbol of the transiency which characterizes life for the average individual, and of the instability which results from the disinclination of most people to give very much of themselves to their experience. Implicit in the negative symbolism is the divine aplomb of the ego, ever able to hold to its course through superficial excitement. There is a real spiritual lightness here as an outer mark of the soul’s fundamental freedom. The keyword is exaltation. When positive, the degree is efficiency in controlling events at any point of transition or crisis, and when negative, a diffusion of self and waste of energy in an attempt to grasp the myriad facets of the unessential.

This symbol speaks to us of the insecurity and the instability that will surround us if we try to avoid any commitment and responsibility. At the same time, it is reminding us not to rush into any situation, but emphasizes the importance of staying calm and holding steady in the midst of temporary turmoil and change, represented by the winds and clouds. At its highest merit, it speaks of our ability to combine the myths, the legends, the mysteries and the sacred knowledge in order to stay centered in the face of sudden tribulations and trials. Applying this knowledge, it will instill in us the ability to recognize and to seize the moments and opportunities that are created by our wonderment and excitement. All eclipses speak to us of the sacred knowledge, myths, legends, and mysteries. This particular eclipse is asking to revive the magic and the wonderment of it all, to make it as real today as it was for those, long ago. This will be one of the keys that will secure us safely through the trials we will face in the coming year. As the saying goes, “one either uses it or loses it”

“Realizing and Prioritizing Our Vision with Action says 5 Scorpio 46 Lunar Eclipse on Apr 25th 2013”

Scorpio_2
In the past few months, the aspects in the night sky have been very direct and simple without the usual clutter, allowing us to have fewer distractions. Giving us the opportunity to bestow our full attention to whatever we are working on that is important to us. In the midst of it all, the 5 Scorpio 46 Lunar Eclipse will make its appearance on April 25th 2013 at 12:59 pm PDT, telling us how imperative it is to realize and prioritize our vision with action at this time, for our future happiness and welfare. It is reminding us that our vision needs to encompass the welfare of others, besides ourselves. In the ancient world, the appearance of an eclipse brought fear and distrust. They felt that eclipses is the forerunner of earthquakes, berserk weather patterns, flooding, destructive tidal waves, social unrest, upheavals, conflicts and wars. We have become so blaze that we no longer cringe in the wake of it, in our modern world. The eclipse is a crucial time for us to harness its energy and power to get our house in order, and to make things happen.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 6th degrees of Scorpio and for the Sun in 6th degrees of Taurus is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Scorpio 6 A gold rush This is a symbol of the exploitation of natural resources through personal initiative of intelligence, and of every individual’s essential independence of the commonplace limitations or superficial inadequacies of life. There are always high rewards awaiting any genuine enterprise, and as man dramatizes the opportunities of the world at large he is able to improve his own immediate condition in all possible directions. Human skills are forever challenged to their own good fortune. The keyword is ambition. When positive, the degree is instinctive self-dedication to the unseen potentials of everyday existence, and when negative, a lack of practical discrimination and an irresistible desire for easy money.

Taurus 6 A bridge being built across a gorge This is a symbol of the conquest of natural difficulties by conscious means, and of any individual’s essential independence of nature’s accidents or incontinences. There are always ways in which physical limitations may be transformed into personal or social assets, thus contributing a dependability on the outer side to a consistency on the inner and so giving every possibility of continuance and intelligence to human experience. The keyword is channelship. When positive, the degree is the directness and the practical instinct by which personality achieves ultimate benefit of its powers, and when negative, a love of short cuts and every possible escape from the obligations of daily living.

These symbols may indicate the greed for riches, but seen in the right light it is emphasizing the capability of having the foresight, the optimism, the opportunity and the potential to see beyond what appears to the senses at the moment. It speaks to our resourcefulness in our ability to go within our creative advantage to see the opportunities that may arise. It reveals to us our ingenuity to overcome obstacles by not being defeated by the limitations, but our determination to find the solution. It reiterates the preparation that is needed before attempting to surmount or transform a problem or situation. It reinstates the scout’s motto “to be prepared”. Although there were gold miners that got rich, the ones that truly became affluent were those who supplied the necessities to those who went in search for the gold. For example the stores, the banks, the hotels, the restaurants that thrived in the make shift camps and cities that sprouted up around the gold fields. These symbols are so appropriate when one applies the message of this Lunar Eclipse, by reminding ourselves, that we all can benefit, if we begin to realize and prioritize our vision into action. Only then will our wishes and dreams become a reality.

“The Sweet Art of Doing Nothing and Doing it Well Says 20 Aires 40 New Moon on Apr 10th 2013”

Aries_2
As we approach the first new moon after the spring equinox, the aspects in the night sky appear to me like the calm before the storm, that is about to descend upon us. It seems to be giving us a breather space to get our house in order. Allowing us a quiet-time in order for us to concentrate to get what we will need, done. We may be surprise what it is asking us to do. In this atmosphere the 20 Aires 40 New Moon at 2:35 am PDT on April 10th 2013 is telling us to practice the sweet art of doing nothing (il dolce far niente) and doing it well, as the foundation for a better future. The action we need to take is no action at all, but the action of being. This thought, in my opinion is expressed to the fullest by the Italian culture in their love of life, beauty and of course, in their enjoyment of food. Is it actually telling us to do nothing, or is it is telling us to have a busy-free moment, just to be in that space and to live it to the fullest?

With much of the activity of the aspects being concentrated in certain areas, much of the noise and chatter to vie for our attention is lessen at the moment. The question that comes to mind, is the Universe telling us to make a concerted effort to get what we want done at this time? Or is the Universe telling us that we need to begin to experience the moment as it is, and to see the moment for what it is? With the busy and the complicated world of cyberspace, having some time to oneself is a luxury, and something we need to cultivate. Allowing oneself time to do nothing, is one actually being in a void, or is nothingness more difficult than we can imagine in achieving it? By being in the moment, even if we are supposedly doing nothing, we are feeling and experiencing the moment as the Universe has created for us. In that instance we are in communion with gratitude with our maker and in appreciating the gift of we are given.

“The Sabian symbol for the 21st degree of Aries is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Aries 21 A pugilist entering the ring This is a symbol of a complete lack of personal sensitiveness. There are here the raw elements of experience, primarily on the side of self-realization as man exhibits full confidence in his own powers and seeks the support of that audience the world will always provide for the spectacle when anyone is willing to risk major fruits of achievement. Implicit in the symbolism is a need to be up and at the business of life. The keyword is exertion. When positive, the degree is a mobilization of the self’s capacities in a concentrated attempt at self-establishment, and when negative, blind rebellion and a willingness to squander every resource on pseudo values.

This symbol is timely as it speaks to us, reminding us that when we achieve expertise in a chosen area, one gains the sense of self confidence to take risk and criticism. It also alludes to a need to be actively involved in life or where the action is or where it supposedly is not. On one level of existence, this symbol indicates one who enjoys controversy and challenge. What more of a test and a hullabaloo can come about when one appears to others to prefer the sweet art of doing nothing. Especially at this point in time, it seems one need to stride and to achieve for one’s happiness to prove one’s standing among one’s peers. This New Moon is reaffirming that we need to take action, but the action we need to take may be the very action that requires us to be in the moment. Allowing us to do nothing, but to be where we are. This New Moon with the Universe is allowing us some busy-free moments in supporting us in creating the foundation to face the challenges ahead of us.

“Grab and Hold on to the Winds of Change Says 6 Libra 52 Full Moon on March 27th 2013”

Libra_2
With the spring equinox behind us signaling the start of a new astrological year, a sense of hope and anticipation is in the air as we await the colors and the warmth of the season. The winds of March are reflecting the energy and potential of the aspects in the night sky signifying a whirl wind ride of action. In this atmosphere, arrives the 6 Libra 52 Full Moon at 3:28 am PDT on March 27th 2013 telling us to grab on and to hold tight to the winds of change and transformation that is coming our way. As the energy and the excitement of a faster moving planet come in contact with a slower moving one, it helps to magnify the intensities of its potentials. This makes it vital not to miss the opportunities when they present themselves at this time, and when they do, hang on to it for dear life.

With a group of planets and asteroids in, a stellium in Aries that indicate a concentrated and heightened level of focus in the beginning of a cycle. The need for the initiation of action and exploration to step into the unknown with hope and confidence, as one who has been there before, is crucial. The stellium is in opposition to the moon, creating a need to push and to pull, to make things happen and yet at the same time is the support that is needed when the going gets tough. The aspects are not just asking for action and change, but are subtly pointing to the need of transformation in the way we see things and the way we hope to accomplish anything. It is not telling us to throw everything out, but to rearrange it in a way that it will be more meaningful. To put it bluntly, the stars are telling us to get rid of the clutter and work with what is important.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 7th degrees of Libra and for the Sun in 7th degrees of Aires is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Libra 7 A woman feeding chickens and protecting them from the hawks This is a symbol of the creative division of labor between the functions of man and nature, and of the dual constitution of the soul in its responsibilities of conservation on the one hand and of developments on the other. There is here every capacity for a control of events through a nurturing of the things which are desirable and a rejection of those which have no immediate value. The keyword is shrewdness. When positive, the degree is a high competence in administering the duties of normal experience and a very special skill in protecting the self’s real interests, and when negative, a complete personal ineptitude in the face of life’s everyday and recurrent complexities.

Aries 7 A man successfully expressing himself in two realms at once This is a symbol of a creative division of labor within the self, such as distinguishes human kind from the lower orders of life and enables any individual to participate in the experience of many interpenetrating realms of reality. There is capacity here for a complete control of events by shifting from one to another focus of emphasis whenever it proves convenient or expedient. The keyword is proficiency. When positive, the degree is unlimited versatility and a special gift for divorcing the things of issue from whatever lacks immediate pertinence, and when negative, a tendency to defeat all self-competence in an unintelligent scattering of interest.

This symbol is speaking to us to keep things in focus and in perspective in order to maintain the proper balance between opposing forces, thoughts and ideas. To see each thing in its light in order to protect and nourish the weak and at the same time preserve the position of the strong. The key here is the balancing act in using one’s good judgment, one’s vigilance, one’s alertness and one’s awareness to achieve what one is aiming for. It is also telling us of our versatility in functioning competently in more then one area of expertise. As this Full Moon approaches we need to remind ourselves of our assets and liabilities and to begin to work with them to be ready for the whirl wind of change and transformation. By being prepare and ready to take advantage of the opportunities, the changes, the transformations, we will be able to grab on and to allow them to become realities in our lives.

“Don’t Look Back Warns the 21 Pisces 24 New Moon on March 11th 2013 at 12:52 pm PDT”

Pisces_2
As we approach the Spring Equinox for the new anthropological year of 2013, we come upon the last New Moon before the period at 21 Pisces 24 on March 11th 2013 at 12:52 pm PDT. By considering the aspects with the other planets in the night sky, it becomes apparent it is signifying the necessity to review and to make a major change in our consciousness and our spiritual values. This phase of the moon is warning us not to look back, but to look forward to the future in a new light with the emotions and the viewpoints of seeing it as a child. In this way we experience each moment as something new and not some repetition of the past. With the grouping of planets known as a stellium in Pisces including Mars, Venus, Chiron, Mercury, and Neptune, it is indicating the areas we need to concentrate on, which is the following: our spiritual and transcendental thoughts and experiences, our values, our emotions, our intuitions, our imaginations and our creativity.

A Stellium of planets is a concentrated and heightened level of focus in the area of the sign and house it falls in, in the chart one is delineating. This leads to the characteristics associated with the signs, the houses and the aspects it makes with the angles and the other planets, to be the influence and to become the dominant factors. It is not only felt by us as individuals, but within the larger picture of our community, country and the global whole as one. The type of influences affecting each group will be indicated by the chart used to represent each of them. Individually, it is determined in what area the stellium of planets are in our natal chart and the aspects it makes with it. In some charts the power to change the situation is subtle, but with others the underlying energy and force is so powerful, it becomes the main focal point during this period. However we feel the energy, whether it is slight or potent, we know the moment for action is now or never.

“The Sabian symbol for the 22nd degree of Pisces is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Pisces 22 A man bringing down the new law from Sinai This is a symbol of the eternal authority implicit in the very fact of man’s ideals, and of a spiritualization of experience through the religious insights of human society and the institutions it has created for the common welfare. The inspired prophets of each age have been custodians of an enduring morality, and this has its embodiment in the mountain-top aspiration of even the least of individuals. Right is dramatized as a personal responsibility for the course of events. The keyword is mandate. When positive, the degree is self sacrifice and a determination to further the ultimate upliftment of all men, and when negative, self-exploitation and impenetrable egotism.

This symbol speaks to us of our inner spiritual and higher revelations which brings insights and awareness from a higher authority we need to begin to learn to rely on. It also speaks to us of our ability to have mystical and spiritual experience that can transform the way we as individuals and as a group live our lives. At its most lofty state, it has the ability to transform and to regenerate our personal moral integrity, our willingness for personal sacrifices and our personal commitment in making a difference in our own life and the lives of others. No matter how deeply we feel the energies of this New Moon, it is warning us not to look back, but to concentrate our energies towards creating a better future for ourselves and the planet. The concerted energies of the planets are reminding us that the power to create a better tomorrow is within each of us and the time should be now to bring into fruition our dreams.

“What Do We Consider Our Treasures Asks 7 Virgo 24 Full Moon on Feb 25 2013”

251822_378298945567557_1425116252_n

As the darkness and the coldness of the winter months begins to dim and give way to the hint that spring is around the corner, the transits of the planets have begun to paint their own stories in the night sky of what is about to commence. With many of the planets in a cluster, signifying that a concentrated effort is needed in order to make things happen, and that minor events will give way to what really matters at the moment. It is like the calm before the storm, that something is about to happen, and we are not quite sure what it is, but we feel deep within ourselves that it is more important then we realize. In this tranquil climate the 7 Virgo 24 Full Moon on February 25th 2013 at 12:27 pm PST is asking the question, “What do we consider our treasure that we need to cherish, to nourish, and which sustains who we are?”

Many may think it is the material things that we collect and surround our self with that defines who we are in this life. Our position at work, our salary, or the end results of our hard work that we have accomplished that brings the honor, esteem and the accolades from our co-workers. The planets in the night sky tell a different story, in that it is who we are, what we stand for, and the way we think that truly makes the differentiation of how we achieve what we truly desire and want in this life. These are the treasures in our life, which are the secret weapons and talents that we need, to honor, to cherish and to nourish any success and satisfaction we will have. We must remember that the outward material things may spoil and turn to dust, but what is truly within us is always there, and is capable of creating, recreating and sustaining our dreams and wishes.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 8th degrees of Virgo and for the Sun in 8th degrees of Pisces is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Virgo 8 First dancing instruction This is a symbol of the self-perfecting required for the many different forms of man’s participation in the experience of his fellows, illustrated here in a potential excellence of special skills. The dance of life includes infinite versions of its rhythm and provides illimitable variations on the theme of its melody, but there must be some specific encouragement of individual ability as a stimulus to effective endeavor. Necessary always is that initial trial of self which in time leads to a continuity of effort. The keyword is assistance. When positive, the degree is achievement through a personal competence and a high gift for co-operation, and when negative, cheerful acceptance of ineptitude.

Pisces 8 A girl blowing a bugle This is a symbol of the self-perfecting required for the many different forms of man’s participation in the experience of his fellows, illustrated here in his successful achievement and discharge of group responsibility. Life’s activities may have a myriad modifications, but human personality must make one of these its special charge as a basis for its own fulfillment. The individual challenges his fellows and is challenged by them in turn at each recurring points of special potentiality. The keyword is summons. When positive, the degree is an eagerness for self-expression and an alertness to every opportunity for self-justification, and when negative, officiousness and delight in regimentation.

This symbol speaks to our innate knack to find our own niche in this world and our ability for self perfection and learning through instructions and observations. The image alludes to coordination, gracefulness, and flexibility at the skills necessary for successfully achieving any situation one attempts in life. It is not the end result that is important, but rather the competence, the cooperation and the extraordinary asset to visualize and to work towards the desired outcome, even if it is not realized at the moment. It is what is learnt that becomes part of the valuable items in our treasure chest. The wisdom to know when to continue and when to change directions will be the keys to the treasures we wish to accumulate. This symbol reveals to each one of us, of the self-refinement and the development of the special expertise and skill we each have within us that we will need to fine tune, to be ready to use it when we need it to bring about our dreams. This full moon is reminding us that we need to focus on what is truly in our treasure chest that can never be stolen, and is always ready and available to achieve our dreams and wishes.

“To Take Care as We are the Caretakers Says the 22 Aquarius 21 New Moon Feb 9th 2013”

The second new moon on the horizon after the winter solstice; signals the start of the Chinese New Year, officially beginning February 10th 2013, the year of the Water snake, indicating a year of dramatic and unsuspected changes.  Within this climate of excitement and celebration, the 22 Aquarius 21 New Moon begins it’s sojourn on the 9th of February at 11:21 pm PST, telling us we need to take care as we are the caretakers of our thoughts, our ideas, our fellowmen and all that is within our world.  Caution and concern are the keywords, and our actions and reactions need to be adjusted accordingly, to what is being understood and what we call our own.

We need to pay attention and not to jump to conclusions, if we are to avoid any mistakes we may regret.  The aspects in the night sky is confirming the meaning of the year of the snake in that what is left unsaid is more important then what is being said.  As all new moons is a chance to begin again, and as it coincides with the celebration of Chinese New Year, it gives us a second chance to review, renew and embark on making our world a better, safer and happier place in the coming months.  It is telling us that we can no longer sit back, and hope all will fall into place.  Action and discipline is essential as we go forth with daring to the dark unknown and uncharted areas of our future.

“The Sabian symbol for the 23rd degree of Sagittarius is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Sagittarius 23  Immigrants entering  This is a symbol of opportunity caught and held through its effective recognition in advance, here dramatized by the creative faith of those who risk their well-being in bringing their skills into pioneer areas of self-expression.  The human soul must be a consistent manifestation of its own special genius, and the individual escapes any major impasse in his life when he is able to transplant his roots.  Reality is never more sure than when regrasped in a radical reorientation.  The keyword is entrance.  When positive, the degree is courage in crossing new frontiers and skill in repeating or improving on prior achievement, and when negative, a surrender of the real in a pursuit of the false.

This symbol speaks to us of our ability to see and grasp opportunities with our willingness to take risk.  In leaving the safety of what we are familiar with, in the hope of finding greater happiness and satisfaction.  This dramatizes the need to let go of situations that offer no further potential for growth or creative expression, and to reestablish oneself where the possibilities are better.  It emphasizes our capability to make change and to face the unknown with courage.  When the going gets tough, it speaks to our competence to be honest and truthful about ourselves in order to work with what we have.  This Aquarius New Moon is reminding us that we need to choose our thoughts and actions carefully, because being caretakers of them we become responsible for their success or failure.
