“The Quest for Change Begins with the Self Murmurs the Sag Lunar Eclipse on May 24th 2013”

As time seems to be flying by as if by magic, the predictions for 2013 as a year of the unusual, unexpected and sudden windfalls of change in the political, religious, climatic and economical areas are subtly unfolding. The year of the snake has made it presence known and the next move can only be guessed at. In this atmosphere, one of the most potent and powerful moons of the season, the 4 Sagittarius 6 Lunar Eclipse on May 24th at 9:26 pm PDT makes its appearance, murmuring that the quest for change begins with the self, first, and second with our thoughts. A perceptive notion created in harmony with a divine plan expressed through the aspects of the night sky. We are not able to have the vision for change, or make changes or see the changes as viable, if we don’t first make the change in ourselves. Uranus and Pluto make their third square, combined with the fact that this lunar eclipse is a super moon, indicating its closeness to the earth in a tight square to Neptune is storing up and focusing the energy for whatever we wish to bring into our reality.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 5th degrees of Sagittarius and for the Sun in 5th degrees of Gemini is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Sagittarius 5 An old owl up in a tree This is a symbol of the necessary element of steadiness in human affairs, and of the extent to which the demonstrated and widely accepted values of the life must have their full and functioning part in the immediate reality with which an individual may be seeking to come to terms. Here is the power of man to give an eternal stability or a universal compulsion to whatever seems to call to his own deeper and private potentialities. Emphasized especially is the real dignity of self respect. The keyword is normality. When positive, the degree is exceptional wisdom or effective self-restraint in each detail of personal accomplishment, and when negative, self-betraying intellectual and emotional smugness.

Gemini 5 A radical magazine This is a symbol of the necessary element of change in human affairs, and of the extent to which the remote or the nonpossessed and entirely potential will have its full and functioning part in any immediate reality with which an individual may be seeking to come to terms. Here is the power of man to give high exaltation and dramatic force to whatever succeeds in stirring him deeply with himself. Emphasized in principal and important part is the supremacy of inner over outer compulsions. The keyword is tangency. When positive, the degree is personality in its highly effective capacity for putting its stamp on everything it touches, and when negative, a perverse determination to quarrel with everybody.

This symbol is very appropriate with its message as it speaks to the fact that when we begin to make the necessary changes, stability and staying center to our beliefs will be some of the benefits. It symbolizes our ability to use wisdom, emotional detachment and self control in emphasizing our ability in demonstrating our self respect and our ability to keep silent when it is necessary. It represents our maturity and confidence one gains when adapting to life’s trials and tribulations that are laid in front of one’s path in life. It echoes the need to have the courage to make dramatic changes and to defend what we believe and who we really are. It will make the difference from just succeeding to a successful completion. As we approach the energies of this Lunar Eclipse we need to remind ourselves, if we want to make changes, we must first begin with the self and then with our thoughts.

“Realizing and Prioritizing Our Vision with Action says 5 Scorpio 46 Lunar Eclipse on Apr 25th 2013”

In the past few months, the aspects in the night sky have been very direct and simple without the usual clutter, allowing us to have fewer distractions. Giving us the opportunity to bestow our full attention to whatever we are working on that is important to us. In the midst of it all, the 5 Scorpio 46 Lunar Eclipse will make its appearance on April 25th 2013 at 12:59 pm PDT, telling us how imperative it is to realize and prioritize our vision with action at this time, for our future happiness and welfare. It is reminding us that our vision needs to encompass the welfare of others, besides ourselves. In the ancient world, the appearance of an eclipse brought fear and distrust. They felt that eclipses is the forerunner of earthquakes, berserk weather patterns, flooding, destructive tidal waves, social unrest, upheavals, conflicts and wars. We have become so blaze that we no longer cringe in the wake of it, in our modern world. The eclipse is a crucial time for us to harness its energy and power to get our house in order, and to make things happen.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 6th degrees of Scorpio and for the Sun in 6th degrees of Taurus is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Scorpio 6 A gold rush This is a symbol of the exploitation of natural resources through personal initiative of intelligence, and of every individual’s essential independence of the commonplace limitations or superficial inadequacies of life. There are always high rewards awaiting any genuine enterprise, and as man dramatizes the opportunities of the world at large he is able to improve his own immediate condition in all possible directions. Human skills are forever challenged to their own good fortune. The keyword is ambition. When positive, the degree is instinctive self-dedication to the unseen potentials of everyday existence, and when negative, a lack of practical discrimination and an irresistible desire for easy money.

Taurus 6 A bridge being built across a gorge This is a symbol of the conquest of natural difficulties by conscious means, and of any individual’s essential independence of nature’s accidents or incontinences. There are always ways in which physical limitations may be transformed into personal or social assets, thus contributing a dependability on the outer side to a consistency on the inner and so giving every possibility of continuance and intelligence to human experience. The keyword is channelship. When positive, the degree is the directness and the practical instinct by which personality achieves ultimate benefit of its powers, and when negative, a love of short cuts and every possible escape from the obligations of daily living.

These symbols may indicate the greed for riches, but seen in the right light it is emphasizing the capability of having the foresight, the optimism, the opportunity and the potential to see beyond what appears to the senses at the moment. It speaks to our resourcefulness in our ability to go within our creative advantage to see the opportunities that may arise. It reveals to us our ingenuity to overcome obstacles by not being defeated by the limitations, but our determination to find the solution. It reiterates the preparation that is needed before attempting to surmount or transform a problem or situation. It reinstates the scout’s motto “to be prepared”. Although there were gold miners that got rich, the ones that truly became affluent were those who supplied the necessities to those who went in search for the gold. For example the stores, the banks, the hotels, the restaurants that thrived in the make shift camps and cities that sprouted up around the gold fields. These symbols are so appropriate when one applies the message of this Lunar Eclipse, by reminding ourselves, that we all can benefit, if we begin to realize and prioritize our vision into action. Only then will our wishes and dreams become a reality.

“In the Shadow of Our Secrets is the Answer Says the 6 Gemini 46 Lunar Eclipse Nov 28 2012”

Eclipses of any kind are major and powerful transits that can openly or ingeniously effect us, depending on how it aspects our charts, either directly influencing us or forcing us to move onward and forward, increasing our awareness that our survival depends on our growth.  Even if we are not directly affected by the aspect, the essence of its energy and power subtly moves through our actions and thoughts.  With the night sky moving into an aspect representing pent-up energy about to be released, like a sleeping volcano about to be reawakened and with Mercury Retrograde finishing its cycle for our calendar year, the message is loud and clear.  As the 6 Gemini 46 Lunar Eclipse makes its appearance on November 28th 2012 at 6:46 am PST, it is telling us that in the shadows of our secrets is the answer we need to help us through the good and bad times we are about to experience.  In the shadows lie our presumptions, our fears, our hurts and our doubts that keep us from stepping courageously into the unknown and seeking for the light and the answer at the end of the tunnel of life.  Until the light dims, only then are we able to step out of the limelight and to see who we really are and where we really want to direct our efforts to obtain the joy and satisfaction, we truly seek.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 7th degrees of Gemini and for the Sun in 7th degrees of Sagittarius is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Gemini 7  An old-fashion well  This is a symbol of the unimpeachable source of life on the side of personal self-renewal and simple organic integrity.  Implicit in the symbolism is the purity of everything adding up to any individual character, and the curious capacity of man to remain himself whenever he enters in relationship with others and encourages the assimilation of their reality into his own.  He draws in and gives out the substance of himself continuously, and is rewarded by nature as he expends himself in this process of continuing to be.  The keyword is recompense.  When positive, the degree is absolute self-reliance and uncompromising faithfulness, and when negative, insensibility and ineptness in all human contact.

Sagittarius 7  Cupid knocking at the door  This is a symbol of the unimpeachable resources of life on the side of social self-renewals and psychological self-fulfillment.  Implicit in the symbolism are the incurably romantic leanings of mankind and the consequent willingness of the individual to refine or alter every aspect of his own being as a means for entering into self-quickening relations with others.  He associates with his fellows and then breaks the ties he makes with them, but in time he achieves a spiritual integrity.  The keyword is allurement.  When positive, the degree is an insatiable appetite for enlarged experience and highly self-consummative intimacies and when negative, self-exaltation and unbridled desire.

This symbol speaks to us of the source that nourishes and maintains life as we know it through regeneration and revitalization.  It reminds us that in order to sustain life with what we know is the source of well being; we must make sure that it has not been contaminated, before we make use of it.  The same is true with our thoughts and ideas which are the foundation of our philosophy and integrity, in that it is not infected by our fears, our hurts and our doubts.  Implicit in the meaning is the need to give of ourselves to the good of all that has been created, or be like water that has become stagnate that brings diseases or dries up in time.  At the same time it points to a need to have passion in what one believes in.  Being passionate indicates a willingness to change or improvise one’s attitude and one’s behavior in order to achieve one’s goals and wishes.  Our greatest advantage lies in being willing to put aside our disappointments and failures and to make the needed improvements and to be prepare for the next opportunity that comes along.  This Gemini Lunar Eclipse is telling us that in the shadows of our secrets are the answers.  The answer is facing up to our fears, our hurts, and our doubts and the solution will follow.

“The Wisdom and Solutions is Within Illuminates the 14 Sag 13 Lunar Eclipse on June 4th 2012”

All around the globe in the ancient world, eclipses of any sort has frightened, confused and excited mankind for millennia.  Today we have become so blaze that we no longer cower in the wake of it, but see it as phenomenon to behold as a side show from the Universe.  As the night winds begins to blow, cooling the evening from the scorching rays and heat of the sun during the day, the second eclipse of the year in the form of a partial Lunar Eclipse at 14 Sagittarius 13 at 4:11 am PDT on June 4th 2012 is happening.  The moon is stating and illuminating the fact that the wisdom and solutions to our difficulties and problems, may lie within, instead of looking outside of ourselves.  With this phase of the moon in trine to Uranus, square to Mars and in opposition to Venus and to Mercury, it is reminding us, that it is in  how we think, view and take action in any situation that confronts us, that will be the difference from success and failure.  Our successful accomplishment may not be apparent to ourselves or to others, but our inner self will know what path we have taken or need to take.  We may not win, but neither will we ever lose, if our purpose is connected with noble and spiritual ideas.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 15 degrees of Sagittarius and for the Sun in 15 degrees of Gemini is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Sagittarius 15  The ground hog looking for its shadow  This is a symbol of the creative interest of the immediate set or drift of the potentialities on which he must depend.  Here is his direct rehearsal of experience through an anticipation of eventualities, or an unhesitating and thoroughly practical trial and error.  Implicit in the symbolism is a consistent sensitiveness to straws in the wind, and a willingness to make any amount of self-adjustment in order to capitalize on the situation of the moment.  The keyword is reassurance.  When positive, the degree is a natural talent for determining the proper course of action or reaction in any given issue, and when negative, lack of self-stability and ingrained timidity.

Gemini 15  Two Dutch children talking  This is a symbol of the creative interest of man in the broad range of potentialities on which he may draw.  His rehearsal of experience  here becomes vicarious and a matter of childlike or unconditioned familiarity with the simple contributions of the self to its milieu at root, thus facilitating a more effective grasp of life on every practical or everyday level.  All relationships are reduced to common elements of background and skills.  The keyword is clarification.  When positive, the degree is self-confidence of spirit by which man is able to establish himself advantageously at ease in any possible situation, and when negative, extreme provincialism and inability to communicate ideas of any moment.

This symbol connects and works so closely with the message from the aspects occurring in the night sky, in that it is saying to us to trust our higher intuition and its keen sensitivity in seeing beyond what the physical appearances allows us to understand and to comprehend.  In so doing we connect with our subconscious in our attempt to see into the future or predict possible outcomes.  In this way we develop the willingness, flexibility and the ability to make whatever changes that are needed to accomplish our objectives, wishes and hopes.  The keyword here is investigation, to look before we leap into the abyss.  In this way it gives us a head start in the right direction.  Our special capacity and ability to connect and bond with others with the same interest and concern, will help us to improvise something together to achieve a successful conclusion, we would not be able to achieve alone.  Our greatest gift from the Universe is our ability to grow and learn from challenging difficulties and situations.  As we experience the Sagittarius Lunar Eclipse, may we go within our own holy quiet place and remind our selves that the wisdom and the solutions are within.

“Focus on Getting it Right Emphasizes the 18 Gemini 10 Lunar Eclipse on Dec 10 2011”

Eclipses are extra potent moon phases signaling a beginning or completion of a major lesson or lessons in life, thus marking turning points and opportunities.  We need to pay attention, to be alert, and to take steps in making it a reality.  This particular Lunar Eclipse at 18 Gemini 10 at 6:38 am PST on December 10th 2011 is emphasizing that we need to focus on getting it right at this point in time, is no exception.  Fortunately or unfortunately, accordingly to how each of us will experience this eclipse, the Universe is taking dramatic steps in reassuring and revealing to each of us the areas we need to concentrate on, if we are to experience a better tomorrow.  It is still up to each of us to be sensitive and aware of the message and to act upon it.  If we haven’t gotten the message so far from Uranus to make changes in our lives, by the planet entering into the sign of Aires, we no longer have the time to wait and see what happens.  The planet is going to push us into areas we are not familiar with, ready or not.  To keep us from continuing on the wrong path, the Universe may place us in a sink or swim situation to get us to the realization that change of direction is no longer a choice, but a necessity.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 19 degrees of Gemini and for the Sun in 19 degrees of Sagittarius is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Gemini 19  A large archaic volume  This is a symbol of the ultimate indestructibility of experience, so that any path once traversed may taken again with a greater ease and a broader self-discovery.  There is here the assurance of illimitable resources in wisdom, and the suggestion that this heritage may be made manifest at any time in an immediate and practical guidance.  The past always provides an illumination of the present, and man achieves best as he cultures a real sense of obligation to his own roots.  The keyword is background.  When positive, the degree is a special capacity for the recovery of prior advantages or the effective disentanglement of present involvements, and when negative, a slavish worship of tradition and authority.

Sagittarius 19  Pelicans moving their habitat  This is a symbol of the ultimate integrity of individual character, with each particular skill and capacity incorporated in selfhood as a potential of self-competency for subsequent refinement.  There are here illimitable resources of experience, so that when life becomes unprofitable in one phase there are always additional areas of realization in which the being may have its prompt reestablishment.  Man achieves best as he makes the fullest use of his own immediate genius.  The keyword is frontier.  When positive, the degree is the indomitable originality by which the human spirit remains at a forefront of everyday accomplishment, and when negative, an unreasonable attitude and fundamentally unsocial instincts.

These symbols with its aspects in the night sky are forcing us to articulate where we are coming from and to where our final destination will be.  To understand and to realize that the way we been doing things may no longer be the way to accomplish all that we desire and wish for.  Though it is a necessity to learn and work with the past, it may not be necessary to incorporate those ideas in materializing the future.  It is also important to have the wisdom and flexibility to turn on a dime so to speak, if the direction we are taking appears to be heading in the wrong direction.  Adaptability is a gift from Uranus that needs to be used to its fullest potential to insure that we think in new ways for answers to any of our difficulties at the moment.  We must face any situation with enthusiasm, courage, joy and knowledge with the understanding that all new beginnings are frontiers to the unknown which will bring to fruition new solutions.  Uranus is asking us to rethink how we think, and to reorganize and to see in a new light what is important in our lives.  As this Lunar Eclipse approaches its completion we need to focus on getting it right this time around.

“Is Saturn the Malefic with the Eclipses Misunderstood in Modern Astrology?”

As I continue my studies and readings in astrology I realize how important it is to go back to the classics to get a handle on this subject that makes sense to me.  The more I have interactions with nonbelievers of the art; I recognize the need to understand the basis as to why I study and have an interest in astrology, and why it works for me.  It is not important if others accept my ideas and beliefs, but that I can explain in intelligent terms why I see this study as important.  As in any other subjects, if one is to become proficient one must continue to practice everyday and review the classic materials to get a real understanding of where one is coming from, and where one is going to.  The other day I came across information that a few of the great jazz musicians of our time had their basic training in classical and other forms of music in building the foundation for greatness in the venue of the music of their choice.  This only confirms that I should be open to all areas astrology encompasses, plus the classical writings that started it all.

After experiencing and writing about the eclipses in June and July 2010, I received a comment about my remarks that the earlier practitioners of the art believed these aspects to be malefic which brought on earthquakes, weather patterns, et cetera.  The writer thought this was totally unbelievable for this day and age.  I shrugged it off as I watched T.V. news reports that my statements were confirmed with what ensued in Asia after the total eclipse in 2009.  I began to wonder about my thoughts, and began to think, that what took place in Asia after the eclipse could be explain as normal occurrences happening for that time of year.  An example of how malefic an eclipse can be is a co-worker and I had the total Solar Eclipse of July 11, 2010 conjunct one of our natal planets which made me hopeful of the results.  I wasn’t over bearing, because the underlying reflection that I never seem to feel or experience anything directly from a transit was in my belief system.  The day came and went and nothing extraordinary happen except a good feeling with expectations, which I felt was my own doing.  Where as my co-worker had a bad day and made up for it the next day, the way I thought he should have experienced the moment.  I on the other hand, experienced the Solar Eclipse conjunct to my Jupiter with a mind blowing experience a week later, to how I see myself and how I think of myself.  For the first time I am able to see and express the many different sides of my personality and be happy and comfortable with it.

Experiencing this first hand caused me to realize that I did not take in to consideration in the delineation, that the planets and aspect were malefic.  This is not to say something beneficial would not result from the aspect, but that caution should be applied when delineating a chart with negative overtones.  In modern astrology Saturn is the foundation of the structure of our thinking and actions.  Although this is beneficial to our growth, what we forget is that too little or too much structure can be destructive which then can be considered malefic.  The ancients may have considered the Eclipses as malefic in certain aspects, and if we treat it like a quincunx, with hard work and determination, we can change a difficult situation into a blessing.  Then what was considered a malefic, transforms into a beneficial aspect and vice versa.  Today if we proceed with caution and understand what a malefic can do, we can avoid some of the lessons these malefic aspects may unfold.  As modern astrologers we must respect these malefic aspects and work with their energies to bring positive results into our lives.  In this way we bring our misunderstanding of the rules that were established by Traditional Astrology into new heights in the twenty first century. This will give Saturn and the Eclipses a place of respect in Modern Astrology in helping us achieve our goals and aspirations.

“Capricorn Lunar Eclipse on June 26th 2010 Indicates Transformation and Renewal”

The Lunar Eclipse happening on June 26th 2010 at 4:31 a.m. PDT at 5 degrees of Capricorn is an extra potent full Moon which has the Sun’s force blocked by the earth from reaching the Moon.  At this point the Moon is seemingly unable to reflect the essence of the Sun.  Eclipses in ancient times have long been held with great dread because they were regarded as the giver of evil, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions, et cetera.  The eclipse has the effect of overshadowing whatever planet or angle it comes into contact with, and to put some aspect of life into the darkness, while highlighting other areas requiring attention.  This particular eclipse in Capricorn is responsive, authoritative, and grounded, but the moon is in detriment in this sign, because it is in the opposite sign it rules.  The weakness comes in the performance of the situation and not the outcome.  For many different reasons we hold back and do not give our all, to the final result when a planet is in detriment.  I always think the key phrase for detriment as, “I am not happy and I may not cooperate or give my all to the project”.  The effects of an eclipse relate to whatever the house that it governs and the house that it is in.  With this particular Lunar Eclipse conjunct Pluto square Uranus and Saturn, indicates an extraordinary need for change, renewal and transformation in our thinking and emotions, if we are to maintain balance during these challenging times.  As it is in the beginning of the sign, the energy and potency is that much greater to visualize and materialize that which we wish to work towards.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 5 degrees of Capricorn and for the Sun in 5 degrees of Cancer is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Capricorn 5  Indians rowing a canoe and dancing a war dance  This is a symbol of the irresistible impulse to action inherent in the very fact of conscious being, and of the powers of accomplishment brought to their personal focus as some pattern of motives takes form on the subjective side of things.  Implicit in the symbolism is the ever-primitive nature of life at root, and the necessity that thoroughly practical and immediate considerations prevail whenever the inner or ideal ordering proves adequate.  The keyword is mobilization.  When positive, the degree is a capacity for aggressive leadership and unusual effectiveness in sidetracking minor issues for the sake of major achievement, and when negative, unnecessary moods and tantrums.

Cancer 5  An automobile wrecked by a train  This is a symbol of the irresistible power of completion inherent in the very make-up of man’s world whenever a sequence of events once is set in motion, as is evident continually on the objective side of things.  Implicit in the reversed symbolism is the concept of control, or the assurance that it is not necessary to continue any given action to the point of self-cancellation.  The ultimate obligation of the individual is to himself, and not to the narrow and momentary direction of circumstances.  The keyword is dispersion.  When positive, the degree is a special genius for a creative reorganization of all experience, and when negative, an insensitive recklessness.

With Pluto in Capricorn conjunct the Moon, it is a necessity to transform our emotional attitude into action with a spiritual emphasis.  In other words, we must walk the talk, if we are to have others, who will help support our dreams which will benefit all involved.  Pluto is telling us to rely on our hunches, intuitions and to discipline our emotions to manifest our desires.  To realize and understand that our emotions are the energizing force that gets everything accomplished.  Focusing on any ideas or thoughts, which creates an emotional response in us, will help to bring it into reality.  This Lunar Eclipse is telling us to have the courage and strength to trust our inner wisdom and intuition and step into the unknown, knowing we seize the future by our actions.  If we have the versatility and the sense to change directions, if our benefit is at stake, then success is at our finger tips.  By monitoring our emotions and being selective of our feelings, we can logically with our intuition, pick out what directions we need to go in, to achieve that which will benefit all.  To succeed in our ambitions we need to work with the energies of this Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn to help us to redirect, renew and transform our thoughts and emotions, so that they work with us and not against us to achieve the desired results.

“Lunar Eclipse at 11th Degree Cancer on December 31st 2009 ▬ Happy New Year!”

If in the last year, we weren’t persuaded that the Universe was trying to tell us that we needed to make some drastic changes and that we can no longer continue the way we have been going.  New Year’s Eve night is coming in with the biggest bang ever to convince us, as the last SuperMoon of 2009, where the Moon is at both perigee (closest to the Earth) and syzygy (in line with Sun and Earth).  This Full Moon is also a lunar eclipse, an even more precise alignment of the Sun, Moon and Earth which will intensify the gravitational pull, generating higher tides.  As above, so below our own body fluids will be subtlety affected, making us aware that we also are driven by the same forces that affects the earth.  With the Full Moon in Cancer, it is telling us, that we need to release what is no longer serving our growth and desires, and that we are required to surround ourselves with things which will nurture and nourish us.

We need to go within into the realm of the intuition and our instincts to bring out from the unconscious and subconscious the developments of feelings, fantasies and creative imaginations which will feed our souls and continue our growth.  The Moon facing the North Node, Mercury, Sun, Venus and Pluto in Capricorn is directing us to the realization that by nurturing ourselves, we are then capable of nurturing others for the greater good of us all.  The aspects of the planets are telling us to think outside of the box, and to realize that business as usual is no longer applicable.  The financial meltdown has shown us that the accountability of allowing others to keep us safe has not worked, and the responsibility has to end up with each of us being aware of what is happening.  It is also telling us that we need to act or react to our surroundings, that we can no longer allow things to go on as they have been, because it is safe or that we think it is.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 11 degrees of Cancer and for the Sun in 11 degrees of Capricorn is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Cancer 11  A clown making grimaces  This is a symbol of the continual self-rehearsal by which the everyday personality of man is able to sustain its particular characteristics, and of the tentative side of experience through which the uncertainties of life can be dramatized for acceptance or rejection without incurring any penalties.  Here is an emphasis on the ridiculous as an instructive exaggeration of human nature, or as an exhibition of its inadequacies in a direct simulation to better self-realizations.  The keyword is inimitability.  When positive, the degree is effective sharpening of an individual’s dominant or everyday impact on others, and when negative, a loss of personal influence through aimless self-exploitation.

Capricorn 11  A large group of pheasants  This is a symbol of the social ritualization by which man’s everyday personality is able to maintain and refine its particular characteristics, and of the common expression of self through which life endows each individual with his fundamental inner certainty and his convenient outer reality.  Here is an emphasis on the reduplication and multiplications of every facet of existence, so that the continuous variations come to dramatize an infinite potential inherent in the whole.  The keyword is illimitability.  When positive, the degree is a tireless pursuit of every personal aspiration, and when negative, egotistic satisfaction in matching the mediocrity of others.

Change is in the air, so let us not copy or imitate what has gone before, but to go within and bring forth new innovative ideas that will continue our progress.  By going to the dark side we will see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Only by experiencing what we don’t want, can we decide what we do want and desire.  So with this in mind, the steps we take with this Lunar Eclipse will bring us a happier New Year.  As the tradition continues, what we do or think on New Year’s Eve is what will carry on through the whole year, so aim high and follow your dreams and create your own happiness and peace for the future with the energies produced by this lunar eclipse.

“Aquarius Lunar Eclipse August 5-6, 2009 – Tunnel Vision?”

What was started during the longest solar eclipse this year on July 27th 2009 needs to be continued and fulfilled during this lunar eclipse on August 5th 2009 at 5:55 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time at 13 degrees 43  Aquarius.  Lunar Eclipses are powerful full Moons with highly emotional energy from past actions that culminate to fruition and brings opportunities for major breakthroughs, new perspectives, unity, decision making, engagements, crisis, excitements, and connecting with others in taking on challenges.  Life transitions are waiting to happen and are placed into action during this period.  What might have started to germinate during the previous two eclipses needs to be strengthened and nurtured to completion.

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 14 degrees Leo and for the Moon at 14 degrees Aquarius is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”.  My continuing comments will follow the excerpts from the book.

Leo 14 The human soul awaiting opportunity for expression

This is a symbol of life’s normal expectation on the personal or subjective side, and of the totally unconditioned potential of self at its point of entrance into each new complex of activity with its fellows.  Here all the ramifications of man’s promise are made ready for any or every refinement of immediate value, and his skills and talents are given a special sensitiveness to the momentary nuances of his individual aspiration.  The keyword is Ingenuousness.  When positive, the degree is a genius for an absolute wholeheartedness of participation in the everyday adventures of personality, and when negative, naïve procrastination and a lack of all genuine interest or enthusiasm.

Aquarius 14 A train entering a tunnel

This is a symbol of life’s normal expectation in the performance of community services or in the refinement of social divisions of labor, and of the utterly natural participation of self in its more personal relationships with others.  Here is the basic generosity of human personality in an eagerness for any or every new path of experience, or in a readiness to share its skills or its talents as these have been sharpened by actual employment and thus are fit for further usefulness.  The keyword is Courtesy.  When positive, the degree is man’s gift for meeting the most exacting of demands on his various potentialities, and when negative, uninspired conformity to limitation.

One can never just delineate any chart with just a few aspects, but must take the lunar eclipse as in the total chart, and when one does, one realizes that these two Sabian symbols confirms what must be accomplished in the next few weeks, if we are to realize what we have been working towards.  The need to have a purpose and to be transparent and to make a difference has been in the air since last year.  What we have learnt in this troubled time is the need to be selfish as a unit of humanity, and that we cannot help others if we can’t first help ourselves.  If we are to arrive at our goals we must be determined and straight forward and like the train entering the tunnel, to take the direct path. The only problem I see, is that I hope we can stand back far enough to see all the possibilities, before taking what we think, is the shortest way to our dreams.  The tunnel maybe the right choice, but I hope we don’t develop tunnel vision and can not see other possibilities in reaching our goals.  It may be important not to take the tunnel, so you can smell the flowers on the country side.  The choice is always ours, we just need to step back and once we have decided what the right path is for us, then it is full steam ahead.

“Lunar Eclipse occurring on July 7, 2009 ▬ Hello!”

The Lunar Eclipse happening on July 7 2009 at 2:22 a.m. pacific daylight time at 15 degrees of Capricorn is an extra potent full Moon which has the Sun’s energy blocked by the earth from reaching the Moon for a period of time.  At this point the Moon is seemingly unable to reflect the essence of the Sun.  Eclipses in ancient times have long been held with great fear because they were regarded as being the giver of evil.  The eclipse has the effect of overshadowing whatever planet or angle it comes into contact with and to put some aspect of life into the darkness, while highlighting other areas requiring attention.  Eclipses are especially important when affecting the ascendant as this angle is representative of the general well being and appearance of the individual.  The eclipse cycle is approximately eighteen years, when it will occur again in the same sign of the zodiac.  Eclipses falling on one of the angles will automatically affect its opposite angle by reflection.  The effects of an eclipse relates to whatever the house that it governs and the house that it is in.

This particular eclipse in Capricorn is responsive, authoritative, and grounded, but the moon is in detriment in this sign, because it is in the opposite sign it rules.  It isn’t half as bad as it sounds, if one considers the yin and the yang of any situation and that all is one.  It is at one point of the circle we accentuate, that appears to others of who they think we are.  The weakness comes in the performance of the situation and not the outcome.  For many different reasons we hold back and do not give our all, to the final outcome when a planet is in detriment.  I always think the key phrase for detriment as, “I am not happy and I may not cooperate or give my all to the project”.

Keywords for the effect of the Lunar Eclipse on the angles and houses are as follows:

Ascendant – Indicates health problems either physical or mental

Second House – Values, self worth, knowledge, finances

Third House – Communications, siblings, short trips

IC – Indicates upheaval with family and home

Fifth House – Self expression, fun, play, romance, children

Sixth House – Work and service

Descendant – Indicates problems with relationships

Eighth House – Other’s resources, sexuality, death, inheritance

Ninth House – Inspiration, philosophy, religion, education, journeys

MC – Indicates problems with career, honors, position and reputation

Eleventh House – Wishes, dreams, ideals, friends

Twelfth House – Inner feelings, spiritual, hospitals, institutions

As an observer of the transits on charts, and especially eclipses I feel the oppositions and conjunctions tend to create situations that generally change the directions, or give a boost to the one already decided on.   The beneficial aspects tend to come into our lives unnoticed and are not appreciated.  So be aware, if the eclipse hits any angles in your chart or if there is an opposition or conjunction to any of your planets, then you should make an effort to take note of the changes and feelings of the moment.  Also, one must realize the effects of this aspect to your chart could last up to six months or a year.  Unlike the ancients we need not fear the lunar eclipse, but we need to realize that like the mother Moon we need to nurture and care for the aspects and their outcome.
