“Are You Talking To Me Taurus Solar Eclipse Conjunct My Sun in the Tenth House?”

Bonatti-Sol
The tenth house has been an interest of mine since I began my studies, as I have always felt that the two most important questions always asked concerning the natal chart, is either happiness in love or career success. Once these two are answered, the other questions seem minor in comparison and the discussion of the rest of the chart becomes more general. Unless of course, the consultation was on something very specific that was on the client’s mind. At this point the delineation of the chart in my opinion becomes less predictive and becomes a disclosure of the assets and liabilities of the person. The tenth house represents the conscious effort of applying the assets and conditions given at birth and how the person solidifies and channels them into reality. The Sun in the tenth represents the essence, the power, the energy and the determination to accomplish what it set out to do.

It has always occurred to me that in delineating the planets in this house, I felt the Sun’s interpretation in this position was missing a subtle influence. I have felt in my own life this force has been the influence and key to truly fulfilling the promises of this house. Many sources will give one in detail a description of how each planet affects this house and the possible outcome that will be expressed, if all is working as plan. What I personally feel has been left out is an emphasis that the Sun is the essence and the subtle power and energy behind the other planets. Without the Sun’s rays we would never be able to appreciate the qualities the other planets express in our lives and the benefits each blesses us with. Taking this thought seriously, one realizes whatever planet is in this position, needs to hold its head high and upright with the confidence of one who knows how to unleash the promise of this house, especially the Sun.

For this reason one must get to what the essence of the Sun in this position is. The bottom line is to understand what encourages the Sun to do what it does. Through studying the old masters I realize what was needed in order to express the full power and energy, is to allow the Sun to express its true character and to be true to itself. How is that done? Pondering that, I came across one, who so kindly allowed me to study her natal chart, which had the Sun in the tenth in which a Taurus Solar Eclipse was one degree from conjunction. By delineating this chart I came across the keyword that I needed in order to explain and express how to get the most out of this planet. By studying her natal with the solar return chart, I realize that my first impression about tenth house issues were still on the top of the list as a major concern, but not exactly, as what one might image it to be.

Although the Sun in her natal chart was my major interest, the Moon with the North Node near the angle in the first, square to the Sun caught my attention. I have been taught when the two lights are in this aspect, it means that they are continuingly in discussion and debate on which is the right path to follow. The struggle is on going and can create more trials or more answers, depending on the circumstances at the moment. Although work, career and one’s standing among one’s peers may be highlighted. What is actually emphasized is the need for this individual to allow the Sun to find its bliss, and in so doing, she will find her own bliss. What does finding her bliss mean in relationship to the tenth house? It is doing what she really loves and receiving recognition for it. What will make her happy and rejuvenate her at the same time is the important action to take at this time.

What is missing that truly defines her, needs to be discovered and uncovered. Work may bring in the needed necessities and the rewards, but doing what she loves will give her the feeling, she has succeeded. With the upcoming eclipse, the Universe is giving her some space without all the disturbances to find her answer. It is trying to help her realize, it is time that her Sun discovers its joys in order to express what it does best. In so doing, she discovers the bliss becomes hers by default. By finding her contentment, the questions and the insecurities will float away and a new confidence will take hold, allowing her to see the opportunities she might normally miss. How can the rest of us benefit from this? It is giving permission to our subconscious and conscious mind to permit our own Sun to discover its own bliss. By doing this, we will find our own happiness creating a mind-set that we can accomplish anything we put our mind to. To reconfirm, one of the important keys to the Sun in the tenth, is finding one’s bliss. This is the first step in discovering, in fulfilling and in creating into reality the promises of the natal chart.

“Revive the Magic and the Wonderment bellows the 19 Tau 31 Solar Eclipse on May 9 2013”

Taurus_2
As time continues to unfold, the year of the snake is fulfilling the promise of the unexpected, the unusual, and the abrupt happenings manifesting in extraordinary ways. It is essential we keep one step ahead of it, if we wish to accomplish what we desire in the future. Even if we can not anticipate the situation, we need to be open enough, to improvise wisely, if we need to, when the time comes. In this atmosphere and anticipation, the 18 Taurus 31 Solar Eclipse on May 9th 2013 at 5:29 pm PDT makes it s presence felt. It is emphasizing the need to revive the myths, legends, mysteries and the sacred knowledge that has survive through the millenniums. At the same time, to restore the wonderment and the excitement of it all. The Universe is reminding us that it is through the wisdom of the past that we will begin to see a better future. It has been our disregard of the sacred knowledge and allowing then to be hidden away that we have forgotten how they have been the helping hand to get us where we are now.

With a stellium of planets concentrated in one part of the chart, one is reminded of the power, energy and the force it will have on whatever it is focus on. Especially, as the planets are in Taurus in a fixed sign, the creative force will find it very difficult to change its position once its direction is made clear. Taurus is also the very proud guardian of the sacred wisdom and will protect it at all cost. It is imperative at this time that we are clear to ourselves of where our starting point is coming from and what we really believe in, as this is the foundation we are building upon. Once our direction is clear, the energy that will be release will be so powerful and forceful, it will astound us. There are no second thoughts or a change of mind. One must be sure what one is asking for, is what one really wants. The mysteries, sacred knowledge and the magic and the wonderment from the past mixed with our clear vision of our wishes will bring dreams into reality.

“The Sabian symbol for the 20th degree of Taurus is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Taurus 20 Wind clouds and haste this is a symbol of the transiency which characterizes life for the average individual, and of the instability which results from the disinclination of most people to give very much of themselves to their experience. Implicit in the negative symbolism is the divine aplomb of the ego, ever able to hold to its course through superficial excitement. There is a real spiritual lightness here as an outer mark of the soul’s fundamental freedom. The keyword is exaltation. When positive, the degree is efficiency in controlling events at any point of transition or crisis, and when negative, a diffusion of self and waste of energy in an attempt to grasp the myriad facets of the unessential.

This symbol speaks to us of the insecurity and the instability that will surround us if we try to avoid any commitment and responsibility. At the same time, it is reminding us not to rush into any situation, but emphasizes the importance of staying calm and holding steady in the midst of temporary turmoil and change, represented by the winds and clouds. At its highest merit, it speaks of our ability to combine the myths, the legends, the mysteries and the sacred knowledge in order to stay centered in the face of sudden tribulations and trials. Applying this knowledge, it will instill in us the ability to recognize and to seize the moments and opportunities that are created by our wonderment and excitement. All eclipses speak to us of the sacred knowledge, myths, legends, and mysteries. This particular eclipse is asking to revive the magic and the wonderment of it all, to make it as real today as it was for those, long ago. This will be one of the keys that will secure us safely through the trials we will face in the coming year. As the saying goes, “one either uses it or loses it”

“A Time of Reckoning is at Hand Depicts the 6 Taurus 48 full Moon on Oct 29th 2012”

The darkness and coldness of the approaching winter seems to be only a few days away as the visions and memories of the last harvest are almost completely gone.  During this period the early settlers with the limitation the weather had on their ability to keep enough provision to last through the wintry weather needed to hunt and to process their food to last them until the spring begins to unfold.  As serious preparation to provide for the coming months was by hunting game, the 6 Taurus 48 Hunter’s Full Moon makes its appearance at 12:50 pm PDT on October 29th 2012 in opposition to the Sun conjunct Saturn in Scorpio.  Emphasizing and depicting a reckoning of some sort is at hand.  Reckoning as defined by the American Heritage Dictionary as follow “A settlement of accounts: a day of reckoning”.  Saturn in Scorpio is associated with responsibility, restitution, reconciliation and to take an assessment of any situation.  This moon phase is spotlighting and forcing us to confront and to account for our fears, to account for our habits, to account for our limitations and is asking us to address it or let it go.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 7th degrees of Taurus and for the Sun in 7th degrees of Scorpio is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Taurus 7  A woman of Samaria  This is a symbol of the unimpeachable divinity which characterizes man’s nature at root, represented here by his instinct for higher things as he yet plumbs all experience to the depths and welcomes life almost indiscriminately into the uttermost inner reaches of his being.  Implicit in the reversed symbolism of this famous amoral figure of Biblical times is an indomitability of striving for real and gratifying self-fulfillments.  The keyword is awakening.  When positive, the degree is absolute and wholly impersonal self-giving in the hope of an honest self-realization, and when negative, a debasing and carefree dissoluteness accepted in compensation for the unattained and more enduring satisfactions.

Scorpio 7  Deep-sea divers  this is a symbol of the absolute integrity of man’s nature at root, dramatized here by his insatiable determination to plumb all experience to the depths and to uncover the illimitable reaches of potentiality in his world of everyday relationships.  Implicit in the symbolism is a challenge to self-refinement through a subjection of the skills of self to every possible test or opportunity for a further perfection.  Self-fulfillment is through an ever-increasing interest in day-by-day problems.  The keyword is involvement.  When positive, the degree is a persistent penetration to the very vital core of human motive and make-up, and when negative, fundamentally unsocial instincts and a resort to wholly absurd escapism.

This symbol speaks to us of the sacredness of man ever thirsting for spiritual nourishment and the enlightenment of seeking fellowship with kindred spirits.  It speaks to us of reaching out and demonstrating and living our beliefs and being an example to others in what we stand for.  The accent is on being of service and putting aside our fears, our limitations, and our prejudices and in giving our assistance and support to others in need, whether they share the same convictions or not.  It is also asking us to take an account of our spiritual beliefs and our concepts of what is truth, and if it is hindering us from addresing our values?  Is our ability to assist and to listen to others dependent on whether they share the same views as us?  At the same time the symbol speaks to us of the need to investigate, to explore and to unravel any mystery to its core value for our self improvement and growth.  Curiosity and persistence gives the momentum to scrutinize things out before acting upon it.  As the Taurus Full Moon makes its presence felt, let us remind ourselves that the time of reckoning is coming from within.  That we are our own judge and jury, and the outcome is in our hands.

“Looking Through the Eyes of Others Focuses the 16 Scorpio 01 Full Moon on May 5 2012”

As the May flowers begin to bloom and to fill the air with the kaleidoscope of colors and smells to awaken our senses to our hopes, our wishes and to our anticipation of what is to follow.  So too, with the aspects in the night sky during the 16 Scorpio 01 full Moon at 8:36 p.m. PDT on May 5th 2012 is revealing the complexities, intrigues and secrets we need to face in the coming months and the area we need to concentrate on, if we are to meet the challenges, head on.  This is the second of five Super Moons this year which indicates that it is at its closest distance to the Earth, which intensifies our actions, emotions, and our involvements in everything that concerns us at this time.  This moon phase is emphasizing that we need to look through the eyes of others to see a different viewpoint then our own.  In this way we will be able to learn to treasure and to alter how we view our selves, our abilities, our surroundings, our supports and how intricately involved and connected we are with all that the Universe has created.  In this way the essential truths and desires of any situation or circumstance may be more easily deciphered, and the benefits and the disadvantages are revealed and exposed.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 17 degrees of Scorpio and for the Sun in 17 degrees of Taurus is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Scorpio 17  A woman the father of her own child  This is a symbol of the eternal conflict between the practical involvements and the ideal potentialities of human nature, as here emphasized in man’s conscious individuality.  The soul feels the weight of its transient responsibilities while the indwelling and immortal spirit is sensitive to its need for an enduring place in the scheme of things.  The recurrent virgin birth of self is its reconciliation with its world through their common center of reality.  The keyword is nucleation.  When positive, the degree is an illimitable self-potentiality with effective spiritual or ideal as well as practical or everyday orientations, and when negative, a characteristically anarchistic self-sufficiency.

Taurus 17  A battle between the swords and the torches  This is a symbol of the eternal struggle between the practical necessities or transient competitions of life on the one hand and the motives and meanings which give them direction and order on the other, as here emphasized on the world stage.  Man survives and gains a genuine self-fulfillment as he aligns himself with the cause of enlightenment while yet respecting the manifestations of might.  The keyword is resolution.  When positive, the degree is high organizational skill and an ability to bring the magic of understanding to any specific difficulty, and when negative, a loss of self-competence through conflicting compulsions of necessity and desire.

These symbols speaks to our inner higher spirit, that in finding our real self and nurturing it, that we take the feminine and the masculine in each of us and unite them as one in bringing into reality our creative abilities, our full potential, and our ability to create harmony from chaos.  At its utmost this represents an astonishing aptitude for undertakings and the ability to find significance and purpose in all God’s creation. The need at this time is to reconcile our conflicts and differences that may arise from our spiritual convictions versus our material and physical needs without compromising our integrity.  Our ability to nourish our negotiating and mediating skills within ourselves and others is our key for success.  The challenge is in the understanding and the wisdom when improvisation is called for and when the time for compromise is needed and when one should withdraw until the proper time to continue.  The saying “putting ourselves in the other person’s shoes” helps us to gain different viewpoints, attitudes and options to any situation or problem.  As this Full Moon appears on the horizon we need to remind ourselves to look at our blessings and our difficulties through the eyes of others in order to appreciate and have the gratitude in what we have and what we are about to receive and to that which we need to do without.

“Reviewing Our Accomplishments is the Keywords for the Taurus New Moon on April 21”

As the clamor of the colors of spring begins to unfold, so too with the drama connected with the coming presidential elections, the slow recovery of the global economy, and the subtle whispers of the predictions of doom and gloom of 2012 begins to weave and to reveal stories, stranger than fiction could ever tell.  Under the shadows of this underlying dramatization the 01 Taurus 35 New Moon appears on the horizon on April 21st 2012 at 12:20 am PDT emphasizing the need to review our accomplishments if we are to make the right decisions for the coming year.  With Ceres and Vesta flanking the New Moon and Juno trine Mercury conjunct Uranus, these asteroids are aiding and supporting us to stand firm, to nourish, to encourage and to commit unselfishly to work for the good and the benefit of everyone and everything created by the Universe.

Realizing that everyone and everything is connected, and that we need to work together for the good of all, is the message.  Understanding and comprehending that our worth should not be measured by our material or financial abundance that have been stored up, but by the joy, by the satisfaction, and by the peace of mind we have accumulated.  Have we developed the qualities and assets of seeing, of experiencing, and of living and of being in the moment?  These aspects in the night sky are telling us that our greatest possession is not what can be seen or touched, or accumulated, but that which is unseen, for example our attitude, emotions, and our thirst for knowledge, et cetera that can make a big difference in our lives, and is a possession greater then any amount of gold we can attain.

“The Sabian symbol for the 2nd degree of Taurus is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Taurus 2  An electrical storm  This is a symbol of man’s real power for making an effective impact on events, dramatized at each moment of issue and crisis by the completeness of his inward self-mobilization.  There is here a catharsis of nature, mirroring the capacity of every individual for discharging the whole complex of strain in his affairs and so clearing the way for a more genuine progress ahead.  Implicit in the symbolism is a terror in the loss of aplomb whenever human personality rises to a moment of union with the universal forces.  The keyword is transformation.  When positive, the degree is a genius for dramatizing both the value at hand and the potentials ahead, and when negative, unreasoning timidity in all self-expression.

This symbol speaks to us of the impact and the power of the energy that is stored up and released and to the awe and fear that can come about where the potential of destruction is not anticipated.  It speaks to us of the breaking point of the stockpile of energy and stress that is inadvertently released or discharged among unsuspecting persons or situations.  As above, so below, explains the power and energy that we too can amass to be use constructively or in a destructive way.  Transformation comes when we unite with wisdom and judgment to come to the realization that it is not what one has, but what one does with what one has, to define who we really are.  This sabian symbol is reinforcing the emphasis of this Taurus New Moon that we need to review our accomplishments to see if it is what we have stored up, that is important, or is it the way we use what we have that is our treasure and success in this life?

“The Choice and the Order of the Astrological Keywords Determines the Clarity”

I have many fond memories of the hours I have spent in class instruction from a person who looked more like she should be teaching cooking on television, instead of astrology.  As with trying to be a good cook, one always needs to have the basic knowledge and skills of the kitchen, before venturing further if one is to be competent enough to complete a meal that one might enjoy and feel satisfied with.  One of the basics my teacher emphasized was the importance of keywords in delineating any chart.  Keywords and our ability to work and to combine them are the fundamental rudiments needed to create and weave a picture from the aspects of the planets with new and different insights.  She gave us many examples of unusual ways to tie the keywords together to give diverse view points.  As one puts into action these methods, they become so part of one’s routine, that in time one forgets when and how it all began.  As time goes by, we begin to simplify and pass over some of the important steps to hasten the process.  This definitely happen to me, as I was gently reminded about the past when I was reviewing my class notes.  I have totally forgotten about what steps I have dropped or lost through time using keywords until they were brought to my attention again.

My renewed awareness of the subject matter came to the forefront as my interest in the early astrological writers has increased.  With my concentration and curiosity becoming more intense in the method the early stargazers used in determining and delineating a chart with such precision, I began to notice how subtly the keywords were used in their delineations.  What clinched this for me is when I read an article by David Roell of Astrology Center of America, whom I deeply respect, giving credit to the keywords for his excellent interpretation of the chart of Howie Mandel.  One thing I felt my teacher did not emphasized enough was the use of the elements and the essential dignities in choosing the keywords and the importance of their level of influence in their reaction to each other.  When assigning keywords to the planets, signs, aspects and houses, the condition they are in, in respect to the whole chart needs to be considered before making any judgment.  Arrangement of the keywords in the order of their strengths is another important consideration, as this will subtly influence the delineation.  What I have noticed is that these subtle forces are like Trojan Horses which can and are the deciding force of victory or defeat.  In other words the subtle influences can make a difference between a good or better interpretation of any chart.

I have also been taught that to get a quick analysis of the person of the chart, the best way is to evaluate the Sun, the Moon and the ascendant of the chart.  The Sun giving the essence, the Moon the giver and who nourishes, the ascendant is the picture of the person the world sees.  For an example in my own chart Virgo is on the ascendant with Gemini on the midheaven, the Sun in Taurus and my Moon in Gemini.  Mercury is happy and works well with Gemini and Virgo, while the Moon is nervous and the Sun in Taurus is indifferent.  In arranging the keywords, Mercury attributed to Virgo and Gemini are first, then follows Taurus, which is the subtle key to it all.  I have never felt that Virgo represented me; as most astrologers assumed I am a Gemini and I never was too articulate about my appearance or my surroundings, and this always befuddled me, until I saw the importance of keywords.  Knowledge is important like the chart indicates, but a possession not being put to good use or appreciated is not in the nature of the bull.  This makes Taurus the Trojan horse which upsets the applecart.  The choice and the order of the keywords determines the clarity, as my own chart has definitely given me more meaning, compassion and understanding of myself.  This is the power and the gift of the keywords.

“To Anticipate is To Participate Repeats the 18 Taurus 05 Full Moon on Nov 10th 2011”

As the winter nights with its cold chill winds sweep through the dark, the 18 Taurus 05 Beaver Full Moon on November 10th 2011 is repeating its message that to anticipate is to participate.  To the indigenous people and the early settlers ofNorth America, this moon phase begins the opportune time to collect the beaver fur for warmth and trade, for the bleak months ahead.  With a trine involving Pluto, Mars and Jupiter, the night sky is telling us to prepare and to be ready for any circumstances that presents it self.  If we wish to be successful in any situation, we need to have as our mantra the motto of the Boy’s Scout “to be Prepare”.  Being prepared, is to use our imagination and our mind to anticipate and prepare for any event that will present it self, in so doing we are participating and working through all eventualities.  This full moon is telling us to think in, out, around, above, and below the box to imagine all possible outcomes, to see which one will reenergize and reinvent our thinking and our lives.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 19 degrees of Taurus and for the Sun in 19 degrees of Scorpio is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Taurus 19  A newly formed continent  This is a symbol of the raw substance of existence, and it suggests that experience may shape its own ground in full conformity with its desires.  Inherent in the symbolism is an awareness of the constant reworking of all reality through the course of successive overall cycles, and it dramatizes the fact that man re-establishes himself continuously within the lineaments of each new realization of his powers and of the opportunities of his world.  The keyword is originality.  When positive, the degree is a revolutionary potentiality by which each individual is enabled to remodel the entire face of the universe, and when negative, a genius for futile turmoil and persistent upset.

Scorpio 19  A parrot listening and then talking  This is a symbol of the raw substance of intelligence, and it suggests that conscious existence can be shaped according to any desired lineaments.  Inherent in the symbolism is sensitiveness to the continual reworking of reality on the ideal or imaginative side, and to the opportunity the individual may have for selecting or rejecting every essential element of his make-up.  Man continually projects the image in which he creates himself.  The keyword is conventionality.  When positive, the degree is exceptional skill in bringing the whole tenor of transient circumstances to the service of a personal aspiration, and when negative, idle mimicry and self-gratifying pretense.

The implication here is that the Universe through its manifested reality is constantly changing and reworking itself into new possibilities.  We need to follow the lead of the Universe and to adapt, to improvise, to think and to act on each moment as it unfolds.  This symbol represents creative and far-reaching vision, new opportunities and transformation for any situation we put our mind to.  At the same time it is reminding us to examine the information we receive, before we repeat or use the information in directing our lives and our future.  It is telling us not to accept blindly, but to double check that it is reliable, accurate and precise before engaging in its use.  Our greatest advantage during these precarious times lies in adjusting and ad-libbing to changing circumstances.  By identifying our potentialities and possibilities, our awareness and realization will be rooted in reality.  This Full Moon in Taurus is like the symbol of the bull, which is staying put, until we get the message that “to anticipate is to participate”.
