“Imparting Knowledge Inspires Change Encourages the 22 Libra 32 New Moon Oct 15th 2012”

As the chill of the winds begins to gather, and the summer breezes begin to fade, and with the last of the summer harvest being picked, the cold dark winter days are almost upon us.  This was the time period in the early days of this country, that the preparation to hunt for game, in order to store up for the months ahead, was about to begin.  If the families were to survive the winter, care in deciding and storing up provisions was an important factor for the days ahead.  In this day and age as the summer activities come to an end, a need to prepare for what will be needed to carry us through the wintry weather, is essential in renewing our physical and spiritual bodies for the coming spring.  Regrettably, unlike the days of old, in this modern world, there is a lot to amuse us and the importance and need of refreshing and renewing our inner life has taken a backseat, to the wonderments and excitements of being entertained during the coming months.

Fortunately the Universe in its wisdom and foresight has a plan for us and has given us some difficult aspects to work through and at the same time the Universe also has given us other aspects to help us to successfully accomplish our goals.  Our responsibility is to listen and to work through the messages, which our higher self is communicating to us.  One of the blessings the Universe has selected for us is the up coming 22 Libra 32 New Moon on October 15th 2012 at 5:02 am PDT encouraging and emphasizing that imparting knowledge inspires change.  It is not only the imparting of our knowledge, but at the same time to listen and to learn from others.  We need to remember that we are all connected and need to work together for the benefit for all.  That Mother Earth, the Moon, the Sun and all creation has a message to share, and that message is we all need to focus and to work together in unison, for the benefit of all that inhabit the earth.

“The Sabian symbol for the 23rd degree of Libra is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Libra 23  Chanticleer  this is a symbol of the soul’s ultimate self-realization through a basic integrity of its own insights or judgments, and of the unchallenged acceptance it is able to gain for its particular role in human affairs.  Implicit in the symbolism are the practical rewards which come from the more effectively dramatized distinction of everyday living, and the enduring significance which the self achieves for itself through the place in life it succeeds in making its own.  The keyword is fervor.  When positive, the degree is a fearless self-affirmation which gains a sympathetic attention and wins immediate allegiance from the hearts and minds of everybody, and when negative, ill-starred conceit and ineffective bombast.

The definition of Chanticleer taken from the American Heritage Dictionary is 1.) The rooster  2.) To sing, and I believe the author is implying the rooster is the master of his domain signaling the dawn of day with a loud and boisterous crow.  This symbol speaks of the confidence of the self image and the need for others to recognize and to acknowledge this perception the person has of them self.  The image dramatizes the enthusiasm, ambition, assertiveness, and the pride and the purpose of the position the person holds in the community. It also stresses the need to draw attention to what is important to all involved, and a secondary and more subtle implication, is that a wake-up call to what is important is vital at this moment in time.  The keyword, fervor is the answer to our success at this time, as passion and dedication is the impulse to continue when the going gets a bit rough.  This symbol emphasizes the message of this 22 Libra 32 New Moon that the knowledge is power and that imparting that knowledge inspires change.  Although change is in the air through the aspects that have been lingering in the night sky, knowledge is it’s impetuous.

“Do I as an Astrologer Heed My Own Warnings or Advice?”

It has been my belief that one of the Universe’s gifts to the world to confirm its existence, its connection and its love for its creations was through the spiritual and occult arts, which astrology is one of them.  The more one tries to master any of the arts, the more one realizes that everything is connected with one another in someway.  What happens to one of us is felt or understood by the other, even if we are not consciously aware of it.  The axiom “As above, so below” can be compared to  the part that stores the essence of the whole, although in actually, it still only represents the part.  The ancients were aware and understood the importance of working with the laws of the Universe and our connection with it. I believe we have lost the keys to astrological prediction and are regaining some of the lost knowledge through translations of old astrological texts.  I suspect the reason we lost this knowledge is because we were trying to modernize, and we accidentally threw out the baby with the dirty bath water.

What we did have in our tool box to predict with, is still amazing, and with some of the new discoveries that have been revealed through the translation of old texts has been incredible.  What is still to come will probably astound us all.  I am having enough trouble just to sort through what is available and to digest it to a point where I can really understand what I am reading.  I have been trying to understand the translation of Morin, and it seems every time I restudy a section of the book, something new comes to light for me.  Sometimes it is months after something I read that I have begun to even have any glimmer of understanding of what one sentence might have meant.  The thing I am sure about Morin is that he believed that astrology proved to him that God truly existed in all it s glory and goodness.  Astrology allows us to choose and to see our destiny.  Being involved in some of the astrology egroups as they work through some of the delineations, I am always bowled over by the results.  Some times the completion to the delineations comes many months after the answer and the conclusion was given, but the excitement and the exhilaration that comes from knowing the predictions were correct, is incredible.

Now getting back to the question to whether as an astrologer do I heed my own warnings and advice?  As an astrologer and a student who truly loves the study, and realizes that if one has mastered the techniques, the answers are definitely available.  I don’t seem to have any problems delineating another person’s chart and giving my opinion on what the chart seems to be indicating and the direction it seems to be pointing to.  Unfortunately when delineating for myself, I find it very difficult to be objective, I find myself trying to see how the aspects could explain what I hope for, instead of allowing the answer to come forth on its own.  The more the question or situation has a deep emotional attachment, the less likely I am able to delineate with an objective temperament.  As far as heeding my own warnings and advice, it is easy to do as I am not expecting anything from the situations because I am taking precautions indicated by the aspects to avoid any complications that may develop.  Unfortunately if one is looking for a favorable outcome, it is easy to interpret the facts to meet one’s expectation.  If I am honest with myself and am seeking a truthful answer, I usually seek the advice of someone who is able to be objective with the question at hand.

“The Abyss of No Return but Onward Directs the 7 Aries 22 Full Moon on Sept 29 2012”

This full moon is not the final forerunner of difficult aspects in the night sky for the year, announcing that an evolution or more likely a revolution of sorts is in the atmosphere and is about to explode and manifest itself into reality.  We can no longer deny its existence as it unfolds before our very eyes and presence.  With the aspects of action and movement in place in the zodiac, a sense that we can no longer turn back, but need to go forward is imminent.  The pangs and pains of change is evident as the 7 Aries 22 Full Moon on September 29th 2012 at 8:20 pm PDT is making its energies felt, as it is reminding us that we are moving into the abyss of no return, but onward to the future.  We need to move forward with faith and trust that through the darkness, we will finally reach the light.  The Universe in all its wisdom is showing us that we need not fear the difficulties and tribulations we are about to experience.  But to see it as stepping stones, to new possibilities and the potentials for success we have not thought about or had the foresight or the vision to recognize.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 8th degrees of Aires and for the Sun in 8th degrees of Libra is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Aries 8  A large hat with streamers flying, facing east  This is a symbol of native creativity, or the fundamentally phallic stirrings of man as these keep him forever responsive for better or worse to the general potentialities of an everyday being, and as they also enable him to realize and utilize the ever-emerging novelties and variations of human relationships.  Implicit here is an unconditioned and complete co-operation with every immediate trend of events, whether consciously or otherwise.  The keyword is excitation.  When positive, the degree is continual self-orientation to the nascent potentialities of all life and experience, and when negative, a tendency to idle posing or an empty pretense of good will and interest.

Libra 8  A blazing fireplace in a deserted home  This is a symbol of native reality, or of the basic law of the cosmos whereby all things tend to continue steadily in their accustomed function.  Implicit here is the burning desire or capacity for passion which establishes man’s loyalty to each object of his self-projection and instruments his more consistent self-orientation through each phase of personal responsibility to the world in which he finds himself.  The keyword is guardianship.  When positive, the degree is an exceptional gift for enlisting both men and the natural forces of life in the service of self and its dominating vision, and when negative, a witless dismissal of all affairs to their own devices.

This symbol speaks to us of anyone proudly presenting them self with dignity and presence as one with a purpose allowing the winds of change and clarity to define their direction and to embrace their stature.  Excitement and anticipation is always associated with change, as it is an adventure into the unknown, as we wait patiently, watching and expecting the unexpected results.  The emphasis here is faith, trust, hope, loyalty, invisible sustainment and the conviction that our goals are achievable through our passion and determination of will.  Our greatest assets at the moment is the refusal to give up hope when all seems hopeless and our ability to change course or improvise, if need be.  It is warning us from hanging on to what worked in the past and to release the negative thoughts which is holding us back from our own progress.  This Full Moon is reminding us that we are moving into the abyss of no return, but onward to new adventures and potentials that are beyond our wildest dreams.

“Vesta and Her Vestal Virgins, the Keeper of the Eternal Flame is Vigilant and Devoted”

Symbols have always been very important in my life, as they represent something without being defined by a set and selection of words, describing what it means.  The symbols can invoke different feelings and emotions in me, depending on the moment in time and in what association the symbol brings to mind.  The American Heritage dictionary defines symbol “as something that represents something else by association, resemblance, or convention, especially a material object used to represent something invisible.  2. A printed or written sign used to represent an operation, an element, a quantity, a quality, or a relation, as in mathematics or music.”  I have never placed too much emphasis on the asteroids as my priorities laid elsewhere, but the symbol for Vesta has always had a soft spot in my feelings and thoughts.  The symbol invokes in me the deepest regards of the eternal light that burns within each of us.

This symbol to me represents flames ever burning and ever reaching for the higher spheres, and represents to me the need to go within our higher self to meditate on our purpose in this life and to tend with sincerity and intention to our own inner flame and requirements.  Vesta is one of the brightest of the asteroids and is associated with Roman mythology as the Goddess of the hearth and fire, and is linked with the aspects of Scorpio and Virgo signifying great concentration on any given task to the exclusion of everything else.  With her vestal virgins, she is the keeper of the eternal flame, the self- perpetuating sacred eternal illumination.  Vesta is vigilant, committed, dedicated, directed, devoted and brings a capacity for pureness of expression for the highest potential and essence of its beliefs.  The goddess brings into each individual the attention, the strength, the purity, the perfection and the reason for the journey in this life.

My interest in Vesta was rekindled recently by an article in the Mountain Astrologer Magazine issue #164 august/September 2012 entitled “Vesta: Driven toward the Sacred” by Dawn Bodrogi.  She explains that whatever house the asteroid is placed in, describes what we instinctively honor and with a pure heart and deeds, where we hope to fulfill our destiny.  With one single minded determined vision and action we will make the ultimate sacrifice for whatever and for whomever we feel is our purpose without questioning the basis for our decisions or our thoughts.  After having accomplishing and achieving our sacred goals, we may feel tired and exhausted, but satisfied and feeling right with our self and the world at large indicates that Vesta is in harmony in our chart.  Aspects of this asteroid give us a sense of urgency, passion and desire.

I began to look at other charts before I made up my mind whether it will be another tool added to my files in delineating any chart.  I was shocked to find that it explained my friend’s strong conviction in relationships by the author’s explanation of the aspects to Venus, Pluto, Mars and Saturn.  Her descriptions seem to describe him to perfection that I began to see if it make any sense to the other charts I had in my files.  To my surprise, it either confirmed other aspects or gave a clear subtle explanation of something I hadn’t seen before.  My problem with her article is that I wish it was a bit longer, but otherwise it was quite informative.  The one thing the article did, was to tease me, and made me want to learn more about Vesta and in what area of our life we would become vigilant, committed, devoted and dedicated to a cause we believe in.
