“It is How We Want and Need to Be says the Natal Ascendant in the Solar Return MC”

Solar returns has always been one of my favorite techniques in predicting what might be in store in the coming year. Working from one of my friend’s charts, where I am able to observe my predictions, I have always learnt something I didn’t expect. There has been times when working through my observations that I noticed something was happening which I missed when I first delineated the chart. This became evident when I began studying the Natal Ascendant that coincides with the MC or the tenth house of the solar return, that something unusual was about to unfold. The energies and the results differ in degrees depending where it falls in the house, from being very helpful in bringing our standing among our community into fruition, to where one needs to actively make it happen.

The MC, also written as the midheaven describes what we may think is our true vocation or calling in life we wish to present to the world in order to fulfill our unique potential. Where as IC, the opposite house in the chart, the fourth house angle describes the foundation of who we wish to be and what will sustain and nourish us, and at the same time is the source of what motivates us. Whether the angle of the natal ascendant is on the MC or tenth house, it generally is a good indication in influencing one’s destiny in orienting the directions the individual prefers to take. Rather then going with the flow where life is taking the individual, the person needs to have control of it. This generally happens when the native feels the outer circumstances that are happening are going in the wrong path. The person may not be sure of the course to take, but is certain a change is needed and is taking action.

This I noticed in a chart of a co-worker I recently looked at, that the year would go pretty well for him, especially where the finances were involved, but the career situation seemed questionable and unstable. It made me wonder, how could that be? Financially I realized his income came from several sources, so how was the tenth house of career involved? Looking at it more closely I realized, it wasn’t how others saw him. It was how he saw himself, and how he needed to change that view of himself in the larger picture. It was whether the company out grew him, or did he actually out grew the company? That what he wanted from them, he no longer expected and he needed to see the situation in its true light. How he saw himself and how the company saw him needed to change, this change of attitude would help make everything he touched more successful in the coming year.

In conclusion I really feel the Natal Ascendant that coincides with the midheaven or the tenth house of the solar return makes a difference in how we see ourselves in our careers. What we thought was important and necessary in our standing among our peers is being questioned by us. It does mot seem to involve the company or how others see us, but seems to involve our thinking and our thoughts of where we need to be at this time. Especially if the natal fourth house is located in the solar return first, indicates a change. The change in our residence or the change in our thinking will give us a new perspective in how we see things. Whatever the change will be or how subtle or potent it will make itself felt will come from within and not from a source outside of oneself.

“Don’t Look Back Warns the 21 Pisces 24 New Moon on March 11th 2013 at 12:52 pm PDT”

As we approach the Spring Equinox for the new anthropological year of 2013, we come upon the last New Moon before the period at 21 Pisces 24 on March 11th 2013 at 12:52 pm PDT. By considering the aspects with the other planets in the night sky, it becomes apparent it is signifying the necessity to review and to make a major change in our consciousness and our spiritual values. This phase of the moon is warning us not to look back, but to look forward to the future in a new light with the emotions and the viewpoints of seeing it as a child. In this way we experience each moment as something new and not some repetition of the past. With the grouping of planets known as a stellium in Pisces including Mars, Venus, Chiron, Mercury, and Neptune, it is indicating the areas we need to concentrate on, which is the following: our spiritual and transcendental thoughts and experiences, our values, our emotions, our intuitions, our imaginations and our creativity.

A Stellium of planets is a concentrated and heightened level of focus in the area of the sign and house it falls in, in the chart one is delineating. This leads to the characteristics associated with the signs, the houses and the aspects it makes with the angles and the other planets, to be the influence and to become the dominant factors. It is not only felt by us as individuals, but within the larger picture of our community, country and the global whole as one. The type of influences affecting each group will be indicated by the chart used to represent each of them. Individually, it is determined in what area the stellium of planets are in our natal chart and the aspects it makes with it. In some charts the power to change the situation is subtle, but with others the underlying energy and force is so powerful, it becomes the main focal point during this period. However we feel the energy, whether it is slight or potent, we know the moment for action is now or never.

“The Sabian symbol for the 22nd degree of Pisces is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Pisces 22 A man bringing down the new law from Sinai This is a symbol of the eternal authority implicit in the very fact of man’s ideals, and of a spiritualization of experience through the religious insights of human society and the institutions it has created for the common welfare. The inspired prophets of each age have been custodians of an enduring morality, and this has its embodiment in the mountain-top aspiration of even the least of individuals. Right is dramatized as a personal responsibility for the course of events. The keyword is mandate. When positive, the degree is self sacrifice and a determination to further the ultimate upliftment of all men, and when negative, self-exploitation and impenetrable egotism.

This symbol speaks to us of our inner spiritual and higher revelations which brings insights and awareness from a higher authority we need to begin to learn to rely on. It also speaks to us of our ability to have mystical and spiritual experience that can transform the way we as individuals and as a group live our lives. At its most lofty state, it has the ability to transform and to regenerate our personal moral integrity, our willingness for personal sacrifices and our personal commitment in making a difference in our own life and the lives of others. No matter how deeply we feel the energies of this New Moon, it is warning us not to look back, but to concentrate our energies towards creating a better future for ourselves and the planet. The concerted energies of the planets are reminding us that the power to create a better tomorrow is within each of us and the time should be now to bring into fruition our dreams.

“Is Mercury in our Natal Charts our Personal Guardian Angel to help us in this Life?”

During any religious celebration, especially Christmas, the attention given to the parties, and the gifts, give way to our thoughts about the angels, who are the heralds of the good news on this day, so long ago.  So, it was very appropriate that my local Public Broadcasting Channel showed a program dealing with the origin and the myths of angels.  Every culture, no matter what its religious affiliation is, believes in some form of angels.  Our present western concept of what an angel looks like comes from paintings by the great masters of the renaissance.  The documentary implied that the word angel meant messenger or the bearer of news, either good or bad.  This made quite an impression on me at this time, in that I wonder what planet in our natal chart was like an astrological angel in our lives that was the bearer of news.

At the same time I was wondering if there was any difference between angels and the guardian angel, and the duties of each.  Was one the angel, a messenger, and the other besides being a messenger, the one that personally watched over us?  That our Guardian Angel might be our inner voice and our conscience that seems to make itself known, when we are in doubt of our actions?  Is it the same inner voice that keeps us on the narrow path of right and wrong?  Is it the voice that reminds us that sometimes we need to take a chance on our hunches and intuitions?  Is it the same voice that we thank God for that we were open enough to listen to, when all seems fruitless?  However we see Angels or how we think of them, it seems to me with all the facts presented, that the Angels, whatever there extra duties are, and how they appear to us, they are messengers.

We have the freedom of choice of listening to the message and whether we will respond to it is our option.  The job of the angel is done once the message is related, and whether we understand, and whether we believe or whether we accept the message or not, is our responsibility.  How we respond will determine the outcome and how we perceive it.  Their responsibility is the communication, our accountability is being open to hear and understand what is being said.  Understanding and deciphering correctly is essential.  In relating this to the natal chart, I can see Mercury as our personal Guardian Angel, who is the messenger, who gives us the gift to understand what is being said.  Comprehending and accepting the role of the planet, gives us clues to how and if we will react.  Mercury not only gives us the gift to hear, but at the same time, the gift of freedom to choose.

Perceiving the conditions our Mercury is in our natal chart by the sign, the house and the aspects it makes, gives us the clues and the keys to how well we receive the message, and whether we will understand and will heed it.  By accepting the conditions the planet is in, in connection to the whole chart, we begin to realize our assets and liabilities we are working with in dealing with any situation.  In this way we will understand what we need to compensate for, and what we need to hold back on.  This awareness gives us the advantage in achieving the dreams and wishes we are working towards.  As we study our own charts, it will become clearer to each one of us, how Mercury may be our Guardian Angel as the bearer of messages, and being the instrument to allow us to understand and to choose the direction we will need to take.
