“Cancer Full Moon on Jan 19th Whispers to Us to Nourish the Spirit of the Moment”

On January 19th 2011 at 1.22 p.m. PST is the fourth of the five Full Moons in a row that are in the last degrees of a sign.  Besides being predisposed to the sign it is about to leave, it is starting to be influenced by the sign it is moving towards.  The Moon is the ruler of the sign of Cancer and so it is happy and at home here, and is about to enter into the sign of Leo ruled by the Sun.  As the energy of the Moon moves into Leo, it is reminding us that the environment we have surrounded ourselves with and that which is nourishing us, is the key to our happiness and success.  We must question ourselves that what we are working towards is what we really want?  If we have any thoughts and doubts, we need to rethink, reevaluate and rework the matter at hand.  With a stellium in Capricorn, our need to put our best foot forward is extremely important, if we are to gain the respect of our peers and have the ability and the essential paraphernalia to successfully accomplish our dreams and wishes.  At this point in time to have a plan that has been thoroughly thought out is the essential solution to work with, as the aspects of the planets are cautioning us about the future, and our place in it.  The light at the end of the tunnel is our calling card to continue the journey with determination, faith, hope and the consciousness of experiencing and living each moment to the fullest.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 30 degrees of Cancer and for the Sun in 30 degrees of Capricorn is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Cancer 30  A Daughter of the American Revolution  This is a symbol of the enduring background in human relations as essentially dependent on an established tradition, and of a willingness to maintain it through a sharp rejection of any modifying influence of unsympathetic times or events.  The emphasis here on an outer conservatism carries with it an implicit warning against any mere resistance to change, and also stresses the need for a life which is exemplary through its faithfulness to standards of proved worth.  The keyword is inheritance.  When positive, the degree is an infectious pride in leadership through which a group is able to act as a unit, and when negative, the ultimate betrayal of selfhood by a false assumption of superiority.

Capricorn 30  A Secret business conference  This is a symbol of the momentary background in human relations as essentially the product of current activities and attitudes, and of a determination to capitalize on any given situation through effective allegiances among the principal personalities involved.  The emphasis here is on man’s desire for an inner circle of associates through whom he may exercise a real control over immediate eventualities, and on his realization that in this fashion he may monopolize the resources of his fellows.  The keyword is opportunity.  When positive, the degree is a gift for clever planning and successful administration in every area of life, and when negative, rampant selfishness and rank exploitation of others.

The traditions and inheritance we are handed down by our friends, family, ethnic group, and the country we abide in, is the dignity, integrity and honesty that is inherent in the spirit of the human race, as we are the reflection of the Divine Universe.  It is by putting our inheritance into action for the whole that success and satisfaction ultimately becomes reality.  The moment we consider the part, greater then the whole unit, we have lost the power and energy that is inherent in every one of us working together.  As we start the new calendar year, the Zodiac is telling each of us to live each minute fully and to nourish the spirit of that moment in time.

“Capricorn Solar Eclipse on Jan 4th 2011 calls for Action to Accentuate the Positive!”

Just a few days into the new calendar year, it will bring in 2011 with a big bang, with 13 Capricorn 38 Solar Eclipse at 1:03 a.m. PST on January 4th.  With the conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus, heralding brilliant out of the box ideas to create and solve situations at hand, and the revolutionary tendencies instilled in our psyche to break out of the same as usual routines and compromises.  This aspect of the two planets is demanding that we begin to have foresight and stop depending on hindsight to solve our problems.  The usual tendencies of keeping the peace and not rocking the boat is about to be booted out the door and that we are about to show a new side to our attitude, that business as usual is no longer acceptable.

With the Eclipse square Saturn our dependence that others in the know should know better is being replaced with thoughts and convictions that those who have created the crisis and problems because of greed need to be responsible for their decisions.  Our responsibility at this time is to begin to take accountability of our own direction and destiny, and to realize that we are the creator and designer of our future.  With the Solar Eclipse helmed in by Mars, Pallas and Pluto, the need to take action and not wait for others to create our reality is at our door step, in which we can longer avoid.  The Zodiac and its energies are demanding answerability, transparency, cooperation and integrity in all our dealings.

“The Sabian symbol for the 14th degree of Capricorn is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Capricorn 14  An ancient bas-relief carved in granite  This is a symbol of the immeasurable potentiality of the present moment as a recurrent manifestation of all that ever has been or that ever can be, and of the ability of man to capitalize on opportunities thus brought to focus in himself and his world at large again and again.  Here is an absoluteness of self as it proceeds to express itself with true conviction, and a completeness of its achievement as it acts with the over-all perspective of which it is capable.  The keyword is foundation.  When positive, the degree is a gift for bringing all things into a pattern of convenience and thereupon precipitating an inevitability of desired results, and when negative, meaningless limitation.

The concept that is expressed from this Sabian symbol is the immeasurable potentiality of living and experiencing the present moment and the solid foundation we need to build upon, for the future.  We need to be aware that everything we put our mind to, may not have a successful completion.   What is important and necessary is that we need to accentuate and concentrate on what we are good at and capable of doing, and working along those lines to improvise and accomplish that we thought might not have been possible.  Once we allow our authenticity, honesty, philosophy and our true spiritual nature to express itself, our higher spiritual self will guide us through the rough waters of life.  Being true to ourselves and our nature, and by living the moment, the truths and path we seek for, will be revealed to us.  In this way we would be proud and honored to have our story and accomplishments carved in granite for those who come after us to be inspired and guided by.  The keyword is to accentuate the positive, and the pathway to success will reveal itself to each and every one of us.

“Mercury Retrograde on Dec 10th 2010 tells us to Review and Revise the Moment”

As the winter months are on their way, so is the last Mercury Retrograde of the year, is almost upon us happening on Friday December 10th 2010 at 5 Capricorn 54 through Thursday December 30th 2010 at 19 Sagittarius 37.  Especially during this period we need to be cautious, vigilant and alert to everything that is going on around us, if we are to be spared the frustration and stress that Retrograde may have in store for us.  With the Holidays almost here and with the additional activities involved, we need be particularly aware of how we choose our actions and response with care and consideration.  Paying attention to details and not rushing to finish a project will help us to avoid having to redo any situation or task at hand.  Having experienced this phenomenon many times, I can attest to the fact that if one is cautious, alert and aware of what is happening at the moment, one has nothing to fear, but fear itself.  Many times during these periods when a computer, car or electronic instrument is going haywire, our biggest problem is the frustration and the time involved.  Or when a letter, agreement or contract is involved and we did not pay attention to the small print or what was being said at the time.  We get a surprise which we did not foresee because our attention was elsewhere, and we should have lived the moment when it was happening.

What disturbs me with this interlude is that we as astrologers tend to emphasize the negative aspects, rather then the positive actions we can take to avoid the frustrations and delays related to retrograde.  Instead of avoiding certain situations, being prepared mentally and being alert for whatever comes our way, is a way to avoid the pitfalls of Mercury Retrograde.  Knowing that delays and unexpected outcomes are possible, our attitude toward the situation should be more of calmness, rather then agitation.  As we meet each negative situation with a positive action, we begin to create a positive force around us that begins to attract more positive vibes.   In this way our thoughts are creating less frustration and stress during this time cycle.  Mercury in Capricorn retrograding back to Sagittarius is telling us to review our thinking and action of the past, and if need be, revise our thinking, so that our actions can relate to that which we wish and want for the future.  Mercury is reminding us that we are the messenger to our hopes, wishes, and the philosophy we live by, and if things aren’t going the way we expected, we need to make some changes.  During this retrograde, Mercury is allowing us the meditation period to go within and bring out the answers we have within our higher spiritual self.  Mercury is the messenger from our higher spiritual self to our conscious and subconscious self.  We need to use this time to reflect, reorganize, review, revise, focus and resolve issues to keep our life on track to achieve its goals.

“The Sabian symbol for the 6th degrees of Capricorn is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Capricorn 6  A dark archway and ten logs at the bottom  This is the symbol of the illimitable resources of self in preserving its own integrity through the varying fortunes of everyday living, and of the satisfaction anyone may know through a conscious direction of his own destiny.  Personality comes to fulfillment as it realizes that its function is an unending exploration of its own potentialities.  Man remains unimpeachably himself because he is able to extend himself indefinitely.  The keyword is thoroughness.  When positive, the degree is high competence in the interpretation of life’s purposes or unusual persistence in employing its ramifying potentials effectively, and when negative, fear of experience and bondage to mystery.

This Sabian symbol reinforces the thought that Mercury the messenger has in its secret vaults, limitless resources for achieving our goals and wishes.  The first thing that we need to do, is to take time out of our busy schedule and review and revisit that which is important to us and that which gives us, our reasons and joys to continue our journey.  This is what I believe Mercury Retrograde does, it is giving us a brief period of time in our busy schedule to slow down and live each moment as if it would be our last.  In this way we have a chance to reflect and reorganize what really matters to us.  What we learn as we experience the frustrations and delays that Mercury can provoke, is that some of those things we thought were so important seem to fall by the way side.  By living each moment as it arrives, we begin to see what really matters to us, and this is the message Mercury Retrograde is trying to convey to us.

“Capricorn Lunar Eclipse on June 26th 2010 Indicates Transformation and Renewal”

The Lunar Eclipse happening on June 26th 2010 at 4:31 a.m. PDT at 5 degrees of Capricorn is an extra potent full Moon which has the Sun’s force blocked by the earth from reaching the Moon.  At this point the Moon is seemingly unable to reflect the essence of the Sun.  Eclipses in ancient times have long been held with great dread because they were regarded as the giver of evil, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions, et cetera.  The eclipse has the effect of overshadowing whatever planet or angle it comes into contact with, and to put some aspect of life into the darkness, while highlighting other areas requiring attention.  This particular eclipse in Capricorn is responsive, authoritative, and grounded, but the moon is in detriment in this sign, because it is in the opposite sign it rules.  The weakness comes in the performance of the situation and not the outcome.  For many different reasons we hold back and do not give our all, to the final result when a planet is in detriment.  I always think the key phrase for detriment as, “I am not happy and I may not cooperate or give my all to the project”.  The effects of an eclipse relate to whatever the house that it governs and the house that it is in.  With this particular Lunar Eclipse conjunct Pluto square Uranus and Saturn, indicates an extraordinary need for change, renewal and transformation in our thinking and emotions, if we are to maintain balance during these challenging times.  As it is in the beginning of the sign, the energy and potency is that much greater to visualize and materialize that which we wish to work towards.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 5 degrees of Capricorn and for the Sun in 5 degrees of Cancer is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Capricorn 5  Indians rowing a canoe and dancing a war dance  This is a symbol of the irresistible impulse to action inherent in the very fact of conscious being, and of the powers of accomplishment brought to their personal focus as some pattern of motives takes form on the subjective side of things.  Implicit in the symbolism is the ever-primitive nature of life at root, and the necessity that thoroughly practical and immediate considerations prevail whenever the inner or ideal ordering proves adequate.  The keyword is mobilization.  When positive, the degree is a capacity for aggressive leadership and unusual effectiveness in sidetracking minor issues for the sake of major achievement, and when negative, unnecessary moods and tantrums.

Cancer 5  An automobile wrecked by a train  This is a symbol of the irresistible power of completion inherent in the very make-up of man’s world whenever a sequence of events once is set in motion, as is evident continually on the objective side of things.  Implicit in the reversed symbolism is the concept of control, or the assurance that it is not necessary to continue any given action to the point of self-cancellation.  The ultimate obligation of the individual is to himself, and not to the narrow and momentary direction of circumstances.  The keyword is dispersion.  When positive, the degree is a special genius for a creative reorganization of all experience, and when negative, an insensitive recklessness.

With Pluto in Capricorn conjunct the Moon, it is a necessity to transform our emotional attitude into action with a spiritual emphasis.  In other words, we must walk the talk, if we are to have others, who will help support our dreams which will benefit all involved.  Pluto is telling us to rely on our hunches, intuitions and to discipline our emotions to manifest our desires.  To realize and understand that our emotions are the energizing force that gets everything accomplished.  Focusing on any ideas or thoughts, which creates an emotional response in us, will help to bring it into reality.  This Lunar Eclipse is telling us to have the courage and strength to trust our inner wisdom and intuition and step into the unknown, knowing we seize the future by our actions.  If we have the versatility and the sense to change directions, if our benefit is at stake, then success is at our finger tips.  By monitoring our emotions and being selective of our feelings, we can logically with our intuition, pick out what directions we need to go in, to achieve that which will benefit all.  To succeed in our ambitions we need to work with the energies of this Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn to help us to redirect, renew and transform our thoughts and emotions, so that they work with us and not against us to achieve the desired results.

“Jupiter and Saturn Square Pluto is Creating a Spiritual Awakening!”

As we continue our journey through 2010 with Uranus and Jupiter entering Aries opposition to Saturn square Pluto in Capricorn, change of direction is not only a keyword, but a slogan for demonstrations and revolts through out our global communities.  In our last major election in the United State, change was the keyword that brought a new administration to the forefront.  Yet as we enter this period of time, grumblings of new changes are being heard, that the last change was not right, nor what we have hoped for.  I began thinking about this, as an individual who wishes to see and experience a better tomorrow, to understand the problem that got us here in the first place, and what we needed to do to create the world we wanted to live in.  Thinking about this, I realized we were all caught up with the euphoria of change, but what the details of that change was not clear, and the consequences it may have on us did not dawn on us at the time.  It seems to me, the new changes that are being discussed, is the same old rhetoric, because we the public who want these changes, are not clear what these changes should be.  I don’t blame the leaders for this direction, I blame us the people, whom were not clear of the changes we wanted and needed.  The new changes in the air have their own consequences if put into action, and I am not sure that the politicians that advocate these changes have the foresight to see the consequences or to be responsible for the results.

This made me think about the changes I need to put together in my own life at this time, if I am to see a new happier tomorrow.  Many astrologers, psychics et cetera are pointing to a direction of change we need to institute if we are not to end up where we don’t want to be.  My problem with the doomsday advocates is they don’t give us any clues to what changes we need to make.  Some of the solutions mentioned are not only impractical, but not realistic.  What we need is a clear direction of what would make each of us happy and satisfied, and that what we are doing to achieve the final outcome is what we hoped for in the first place.  It is not important that we succeed in the direction we started, but that we take responsibility of our decisions, and are willing to take on the consequences’ of our actions.  This is my problem with the bailout of some of our financial institutions, that they have not taken responsibility for their decisions.  As individuals when we make some major mistakes in our financial dealings, we alone, are responsible to remedy the situation.  It is clear to me that whatever the decisions or directions we decide upon; we must take responsibility for our actions.

With Pluto square to Jupiter and Uranus, it is revealing to us the need to revolutionize our thinking and habits, and to live and experience life to the fullest.  Pluto is telling us to become the caterpillar that has the faith, knowledge and determination to change into the beautiful butterfly.  Each of us must take that step towards the unknown to achieve our dreams.  Not only must we face the unknown territory with courage and strength, but realize that our course should enliven our spirits, and give us hope and reason for the future.  We should see life like a child, who has no fear, but a love for life.  If our decisions for the future do not give us hope, joy and anticipation to experience more of what life has to offer, then we should reconsider the path we are on.  The spiritual awaking is simple; we must regain our innocence and naiveté like little children and see everything with joy and enthusiasm.  The decisions will become clear when we see our circumstances in that light because all the prejudices and thoughts that have accumulated through the years will melt away, and what the conditions really are like, will become clear to us.  The awakening is the realization to live and experience each moment in the present, and that our decisions for the future comes from living in the here and now.

“New Moon at 25th Degree Aries on April 14 2010 is Being Aware of the Moment!”

My favorite time of the month is approaching, although a few astrologers do not consider it as advantageous.  Most practitioners of the art, including myself, believe it to be the start of something new and quite beneficial.  The New Moon at 24 Aries 27 happening at 5:29 a.m. PDT has the ruler of the Moon in Mars at 7 degrees of Leo, which is quincunx Pluto at 6 degrees of Capricorn, and Pluto trine Mercury conjunct Venus.  With a quincunx, Pluto is allowing us to know that transforming any thoughts and ideas takes work, perseverance with trials and tribulations to perfect the final outcome.  With communication skills and the ability to appreciate beauty transforming itself into higher octaves, the need to see a spiritual reason, and a purpose to everything we do and touch, is vitally important at this time.  The Moon in Aries sextle Chiron and Neptune is telling us to feel the energy and essence of who we are, and that we have the ability to feel the vision and understand the energy that brings these ideas into reality.  As in all New Moons, it is the time to take a moment and reflect on what has been happening and to decide if this is the right direction for us.  It is also the time to be more aware of the moment and to be conscious of all that is going on.  Just like the spring season, what thoughts we seed, whether consciously or unconsciously will bloom in the future.  So if we are not careful of our thoughts, because we are not paying attention to the moment, we may be in for many surprises in the future, which we have created ourselves.

“The Sabian symbol for the 25th degree of Aries is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Aries 25  A double promise  This is a symbol of man’s stark resourcefulness on the side of everyday experience.  For each potentiality that life may offer him there are alternatives of equal or supplementary value which he is able to recognize, and within himself there is always the symbolical as well as the literal pertinence of everything that comes to his attention.  Here is unlimited capacity for seeing the world and self both inwardly and outwardly.  The keyword is sensibility.  When positive, the degree is a facility of adjustment by which everything in a given situation may be brought into the fullest co-operation with everything else, and when negative, compromising insincerity and a lean to chicanery in all human relationships.

We can take the signs and aspects and literally come up with a long explanation to what they mean, or we can trust our higher intuition and let these symbols speak truth to our souls and show us the way, to what we seek.  Either way, if we are sincere the truth will find its’ way to our door step, and the answers of what we should do, will be apparent.  As the aspects are telling us we must make changes and the zodiacal symbols are telling us if we want to transform and see a better tomorrow, we must work together as one.   The extreme weather patterns this winter has shown us the Earth is rebelling, and the Universe is reminding us that we are connected and united with every living and supposedly nonliving things or objects in this world.  Until we realize this, and work for the good for everyone and everything,  the Universe will continue putting obstacles in our way.  If we are not kind to the Earth soon, the Earth will begin to let us know that we are all in this together, and the results will not be to our liking.  This New Moon is telling us that everything in this world is connected and to be conscious of each moment, and to make our decisions wisely, and then sensibly bringing them into fruition.

“Lunar Eclipse at 11th Degree Cancer on December 31st 2009 ▬ Happy New Year!”

If in the last year, we weren’t persuaded that the Universe was trying to tell us that we needed to make some drastic changes and that we can no longer continue the way we have been going.  New Year’s Eve night is coming in with the biggest bang ever to convince us, as the last SuperMoon of 2009, where the Moon is at both perigee (closest to the Earth) and syzygy (in line with Sun and Earth).  This Full Moon is also a lunar eclipse, an even more precise alignment of the Sun, Moon and Earth which will intensify the gravitational pull, generating higher tides.  As above, so below our own body fluids will be subtlety affected, making us aware that we also are driven by the same forces that affects the earth.  With the Full Moon in Cancer, it is telling us, that we need to release what is no longer serving our growth and desires, and that we are required to surround ourselves with things which will nurture and nourish us.

We need to go within into the realm of the intuition and our instincts to bring out from the unconscious and subconscious the developments of feelings, fantasies and creative imaginations which will feed our souls and continue our growth.  The Moon facing the North Node, Mercury, Sun, Venus and Pluto in Capricorn is directing us to the realization that by nurturing ourselves, we are then capable of nurturing others for the greater good of us all.  The aspects of the planets are telling us to think outside of the box, and to realize that business as usual is no longer applicable.  The financial meltdown has shown us that the accountability of allowing others to keep us safe has not worked, and the responsibility has to end up with each of us being aware of what is happening.  It is also telling us that we need to act or react to our surroundings, that we can no longer allow things to go on as they have been, because it is safe or that we think it is.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 11 degrees of Cancer and for the Sun in 11 degrees of Capricorn is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Cancer 11  A clown making grimaces  This is a symbol of the continual self-rehearsal by which the everyday personality of man is able to sustain its particular characteristics, and of the tentative side of experience through which the uncertainties of life can be dramatized for acceptance or rejection without incurring any penalties.  Here is an emphasis on the ridiculous as an instructive exaggeration of human nature, or as an exhibition of its inadequacies in a direct simulation to better self-realizations.  The keyword is inimitability.  When positive, the degree is effective sharpening of an individual’s dominant or everyday impact on others, and when negative, a loss of personal influence through aimless self-exploitation.

Capricorn 11  A large group of pheasants  This is a symbol of the social ritualization by which man’s everyday personality is able to maintain and refine its particular characteristics, and of the common expression of self through which life endows each individual with his fundamental inner certainty and his convenient outer reality.  Here is an emphasis on the reduplication and multiplications of every facet of existence, so that the continuous variations come to dramatize an infinite potential inherent in the whole.  The keyword is illimitability.  When positive, the degree is a tireless pursuit of every personal aspiration, and when negative, egotistic satisfaction in matching the mediocrity of others.

Change is in the air, so let us not copy or imitate what has gone before, but to go within and bring forth new innovative ideas that will continue our progress.  By going to the dark side we will see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Only by experiencing what we don’t want, can we decide what we do want and desire.  So with this in mind, the steps we take with this Lunar Eclipse will bring us a happier New Year.  As the tradition continues, what we do or think on New Year’s Eve is what will carry on through the whole year, so aim high and follow your dreams and create your own happiness and peace for the future with the energies produced by this lunar eclipse.
