“Out of the Box and Beyond echoes the Aries Full Moon on September 23, 2010”

Another Full Moon at 00 Aries 16 is on its way at 2:18 a.m. PDT on September 23, 2010, and as always with this phase of the moon, it is our personal perspective, whether the glass is half full or half empty that is important at this time.  It is how we see this Full Moon, which will depend on how beneficial it will be during this lunar period.  Why so important?  With the moon conjunct Uranus and Jupiter and the Sun minimizing the influence of Saturn square Pluto, the need to nourish thoughts and emotions that are out of the box and out of the ordinary that must take center stage.  As we have seen from the last few months, business as usual has taken a step backwards, and the need to think and feel out of the box and beyond is what is going get us out of the existence we have been experiencing to overcome the difficulties and trials that lay ahead of us.  I am not saying that we must choose ideas that are not our usual trend of thoughts, but that we must lay out all the possibilities, and the ones we may not normally think about, to find the one choice that will benefit us the most.  Given all the choices, we have a fighting chance to decide on the right path that will bring us the results we are looking for.  Thinking and feeling out of the box and beyond, and the action to make it happen should be our mantra for this Full Moon in the beginning sign of Aries.

“The Sabian symbol for the Moon in 1 degree of Aries and for the Sun in 1 degree of Libra is taken from “The Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones”, and what follows are my comments.

Aries 1  A woman rises out of water, a seal rises and embraces her  This is a symbol of completely unconditioned potentiality, as this may be grasped on the practical side of life.  Here are elements of soul emerging from primordial nonexistence, and of an essentially feminine receptivity calling up a more masculine or personal and self-seeking initiative.  There is an implicit emphasis on the mutual interdependence of the emotional and purposeful aspect of self.  The keyword is realization.  When positive, the degree is an illimitability of experience of which anyone can take advantage under any circumstances, and when negative, a failure to find a place in life because the self cannot separate itself from its private obsessions.

Libra 1  A butterfly made perfect by a dart through it  This is a symbol of completely unconditioned potentiality, as this may be grasped on the imaginative side of life.  Here are elements of individual consciousness emerging from a primordial formlessness, and of wisdom developing through the human spirit’s continual determination to project itself into experience.  Each person comes into identifiable being through the nature which has been molded for him, and thereupon refines this for his own self-expression.  The keyword is articulation.  When positive, the degree is man’s awakening to the need for some more whole-souled focus of character, and when negative, the loss of all true selfhood by a needless surrender to the world and conformity to its way.

The symbols allow us to understand that the primordial concept of the yin and the yang, the co-operation of opposites is the realization that the harmony and the nurturing of these two forces, makes a formidable creator.  That by nurturing and expanding the forces of the Sun, the masculine energies, we are more able to use the Moon forces, the feminine energies to cultivate, manage and articulate our emotions and creative energies for a perfect foundation to manifest our hopes, dreams and ambitions.  It is by using these two forces in synchronization that we will be able to think and feel out of the box and beyond to overcome the difficulties and tribulations that we will need to face, and to take our next step in the journey of life.

  1. Thanks for the insight. The Sabian Symbols always help us peel back the outer layers and see inside.
